The bacterial culture experiment of pharyngeal swab I did just now made me recalled the memories of the great pandemic, during when I got up early to be sampled by pharyngeal swabs days after days…That’s really a tough time.

There are places out there that it still holds on, not near as many of them as there used to be but they do still exist.
I looked it up and sure enough the Hoi4 MLP mod is still being actively updated to this day. They got huge lore and everything
That reminds me wasn't the MLP mod for DF still going, last I looked at it someone had started working on it again.

Pastry is defined as having water in it
This does not appear to actually be true? There's enough regional variation in the usage of the word there doesn't appear to actually be a consistent definition for it anymore, heh. The closest you get is "baked good that's flakier or crumblier than standard bread". Water's usually involved in the dough, but it doesn't have to be.

Which, yeah, scone fits that okay, though they look more like malformed cookies than anything. Some cookies are pastries anyway, so it makes sense enough for me.

Yep, tough times. But tough times partly because of misinformation everywhere and people not listening to common sense. Use what you learn to keep healthy the people you care about. I watched people wash their hands, then put their hand on a doorknob that everyone else had touched...

More irked than upset.

Having a sell off of random shit in my Steam inventory, and for no obvious reason Steam has decided that literally every item requires confirmation now. Absolute pain in the cunt, especially since Steam threw a fit because I was logging in from a new computer at a new location. Which is the same computer. From the same location. And then the confirmation for a new computer glitched out.

Oh hey, I remember running into that exact problem and giving up trying. I've got nearly 500 trading card things in that inventory and if it wasn't a pain in the ass to offload them it'd be 0. Probably wouldn't amount to much, but it'd be enough to get a few things on sale.

Alas, too much damn effort.

There is a faster way for the cards which doesn't require individual confirmation. If you go to the page for "badges" you can see your collection from each game and there's a button to sell of all the cards for one game. You have to sell em for exactly the price that steam suggests for em though.

Nope, that doesn't work. They still require confirmation.

Basically Steam's got its panties in a knot that I still haven't set up two-factor authentication. Twats.

EDIT: Oh yes, and to make sure they piss me off, they're holding every listing for 15 days. I'm missing the BG3 price surge from the badges suddenly appearing because Steam desperately, desperately wants my phone number. Double twats.

I was in my car in a parking lot today, getting ready to depart. A car pulls into the empty spot next to me and people are getting out of the car.  One of them opens their door hard and far enough that it shook my whole car. Left a minor dent and a superficial scratch.  They didn't say anything at all, not even an "oh, sorry!"

Lack of situational analysis and lack of common courtesy.

might be a "Karen" move but you could always take a photo of the license plate then ask them for their insurance company.. Politely of course.

Not sure what makes it a Karen move. Not sure how it is where you are. Here you are liable if any damage happens, and not swapping your insurance details is asking for problems that could of been better sorted by... just swapping insurance details.

Edit: I mean the way it works here is, something happens. You ignore it. The person in the wrong claims some BS, and now you are f'd, so what you are calling a "Karen move" I'd call "covering your own arse".

Not worth the deductible to be honest. Mostly I was more annoyed by the lack of situational awareness or even "oh man, sorry."

I mean, my kids have already put far more scratches in the car, so that wasn't even the concern.

Seems all good.

I'm mildly sad that people have started using the word Karen, even though I know some people named Karen who are in fact Karens.

It's part of a more general annoyance with people taking there favourite internet meme and treating it as something real, instead of just a joke.

"Woke", "the evil left", "Karens". All these ways that people have chosen to stop looking out their windows at reality and choosen to act like an idea on the net is more real than reality.

Possibly I'm more than "mildly" upset about this change in society.

As an old person I used to be able to laugh at the stupidity of these memes. Sadly some from my generation are more sucked in then others, even though they should know better.

Edit - Not aimed at you bordetsky. Aimed at why some of us hate the new language. And to extend on why we hate the new language, it creates new problems, it distracts from old problems not solved. And this is likely deliberate.

Took a bit of a nap today and during it Youtube has seemingly decided that their UI wasn't shit enough and needed a rework. So now the landing page doesn't have reasonably sized thumbnails where you can both read the thumbnail and the text underneath. No, what it does have is thumbnails blown up to about three times the size of previous ones, so instead of fitting some 20+ onto a single screen you barely get 10. The entire thing looks like a bad joke of a mobile port and for the life of me I can't think why anyone would approve of making a change that is expressly worse for useability without offering the option to adjust or not go trough with it.
