A dopp-ally of some kind would make sense. I've been thinking only two scum with no mind shield with all these power roles floating around is a bit underpowered.

ToonyMan was lynched, right? Four people voted to shorten.

I thought this was the subtle reveal.

Getting chained really messes up someone's night's sleep.
A 'reveal' so subtle in fact that I'd have to be literally psychic to pick up on it. And bolder than brass to act upon it.

You can't believe this. You both flatter me. I'm a fine player, if I do say so myself, but I'm not superhumanly good.

I do believe this.  If people need to see me flip before you, that really sucks, hope we got the deaths left to make that happen.

If it's toons, well done toons.

I'm seriously scared it's not toons.  And it is NQT.

GG whatever happens.

It would be the play of the decade for notquitethere to intuit somehow that you blocked Magma Mater and then display as much aggravation with Magma Mater as NQT did on D2.
I wouldn't put it past
Player of the CenturyTM notquitethere MafiaLord Supreme Reigning 10 Year Champ of Bay12 Mafia

Me hinted about Magma before NQT did on D2. NQT probably caught on if not telling truth.
Where?

You know where NQT, you decrypted my secrets with your highly sophisticated and intelligent mafia brain.

However! I must please the commoners and booger eaters such as myself and others

Ask and it shall be revealed, my hidden message and clues that reveal NQT stole my night action claim to disguise their Crystal kill

I can only deduce that Player of the CenturyTM NQT saw through my breadcrumbing and stole my nightclaim for his own.

But toons himself didn't say that was a hint.  So I read pattern in noise or I dunno.

Hope it's toons.  If not, man I wish I'd fought harder to get off Sal.

Sal went for me, and I didn't aikido it to another. I didn't deep read NQT until D3, when I started coming out of my own deep anger/evil feels.

Oh well.  Further evidence, if Sal might be town, keep Sal around.

The Whiteboard
notquitethere: 2: Imp, ToonyMan
ToonyMan: 4: AnimePigeon, Jim Groovester, Magma Mater, notquitethere

Shorten: 4: Jim Groovester, Magma Mater, notquitethere, ToonyMan (4 needed to shorten)

The debate rages through the morning, but a bit before lunch time it's obvious that enough people just want to get it over with.

"You want to kill me? Fine. Do it. Don't keep us all in suspense all day." ToonyMan gestures to the rifle sitting on the table.

"Yeah. All right." Jim picks it up. "Damn, I hope you're a dopp" he says as he levels the gun. ToonyMan just grins, and then bolts for the door.

A loud bang fills the rooms, and ToonyMan's body crashes to the floor just inches from the outside. As you watch, his body shifts and reforms, until the featureless head and clawed hands of a doppelganger are clearly visible.

It's done.

You've gotten them both. No instead of worrying about monsters eating you at night you can go back to worrying about invading forces trying to kill you all.

Frankly, it really is an improvement.

And that's game. A bit short, but I have to say Toony did a pretty damn good job keeping things going after losing his partner day 1. I'll have Role PMs and Night PMs up in a new post shortly.

Good game everyone. You really got me with the AtE on D2 ToonyMan lol it's unfortunate that the night actions restricted the lynch options so much.

Spoiler: Role PMs (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Night 1 (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Night 2 (click to show/hide)

I do have some notes for myself for clarifications in the OP for future games. The sneak in particular is a bit confusing, but it would also help to clarify how some other rules work like if two guards protect the same person the night they are attacked.

Agentt had the mind shield. I did not.

I didn't want to bus Agentt but I was the only other wagon throughout D1. Crystal and Magma saw through me on D1. I told Agentt to press on anybody for any reason but they were having a hard time doing that. I pushed for a new wagon as soon as I could (thank you ChatGPT) but it didn't end up working.

I thought about no killing on N1 but it felt really lame and I didn't know what town would be doing so I killed a player I felt would investigate me if they could. It ended up hard confirming Magma and AP while softclearing Jim and NQT. I was convincing enough to get Sal offed so that worked out but the next day would be basically impossible.

I had to lynch NQT today because I don't have the mind shield, and then pray that Imp is a 3P alien and sides with me D4.

Toony did a pretty fine job of fighting a rearguard action. Making it to D3 after both scum team members were the main elimination candidates on D1 is pretty good. Still, hard to see how it could have been won when so many town had cleared themselves through their actions and, frankly, the D1 votes.

I can see now why Imp didn't claim, she was hoping to lure a dopp attack with her sentry guns. That's reasonable enough. What I don't get is how she thought I was scum. I think I must be the #1 blindspot in her ability to read players.

I was desperately hoping you'd come for me as dop, not warden.

I didn't want to mark anyone as safe, N1.

Then I felt like if I didn't mark Jim as safe, town might lose.

Then I added AP too.

I missed NQT.

But two of three town who could physically visit me and not kill me, I marked as safe to approach.

AP was too off to me for safe passage N2.

I felt bad claiming I trusted Mater and whomever else D1, I was hoping if I ended up dead people would reread my trust claims and figure out who I let in to kill me.

I did intend to allow 4 in N1, until I saw Agentt actually was dop.

And then I was scared to let AP in, but... had to.  Couldn't justify the level of sus I felt, it felt too evil.

Crystal gets MVP for taking up my idea and leading the Agent wagon in the final hours of D1:
Honestly, the smart move might just be to rush vote Agent before the EOD.
Agentt
I'm agreeing to vote Agentt because they're one of the players I suspect. I honestly don't think that Magma is scum but I also don't want a tie and an Agentt compromise might be for the best.

If I killed Magma on N1 that would have been...funny.

Jim dies with Magma.

Crystal learns useless info since it looks like they targeted Magma.

Nobody else learns anything or has a provable alibi...damn...oh well...

You were quite different this game too.

I top sussed Toony, figured we were messing around and mercy not elim D2, people like Jim were even commenting kinda adjacent to that.

I was willing to play as long as town won.  But... if town's not gonna win, like there's other anti-town?  I can't mess around.  I waffled on that a lot.

My town range includes serious intense bluffs.

I could one day be a plain townie refusing to claim, riding the 'so, that could be Imp mas scientist sentry gunner' and trying to spin that towards town benefit.

Rare though, I think I usually go honest.  If I won't claim, I think it's protown for me not to.

But my actual role.

I have no way to get out of PoE except 'can someone please watch me every night and see I never do anything?'

I could have offered Jim open 'come be safe with me, they can't kill me to kill you, not unless they can double tap'

and that was tempting.

But that reveals I am what I am.  Jim's safe with me, but what if he's dop?  I felt so sure, what if that's how wrong I am?

So I didn't.

Plus, it just makes my home a santuary for me and Jim, while warning danger to not mess with the trap.

I was surprised you delayed your choices and wanted to know which way I went too, at the point you did that.

And you have spooky high focus on Agentt.  Both when voting and not.  You do look like you are informed about Agentt.

So, I need to recalibrate, neat.
