You might probably know the thread i wrote some questions...So i decided to put my fortress stories here...
Embark:
Welp....call me a lucky son of an elf...Mountain,Trees,magma,sand,a heck load of magnetite on surface,and coal...
Hell this is really a steep cliff..
I should start digging into this stone and make a nice fortress...

Ugh....there is barely any soil(got used to it in mah caves)I'll have to make a room for plump helmets (any tips on what to use?or does it not matter?)

Screenshots greatly help picturing the embark :) Please post some!

I like aboveground plants, myself. On mountains, the top grass-covered floor is soil floor even if the wall beneath it is stone. Useful for clay/sand as well sometimes (if you designate a farm plot, it auto-furrows into clay after a bit of time even with nobody going near it).
