Other Games / Re: Might and Magic Fan-made game looking for help

I tend to be a completionist and did, in fact, play as much of the game as is possible without a walkthrough.  I've managed to find and finish every quest in MM6-8 that way (judging from what guides I've looked at, anyway), though I missed a few Easter eggs and relied on FAQs for most of the riddles.  Either I managed to miss that one (:-\) or a patch fixed/broke it (not sure what version I played).

Regardless, MM9 is not well-polished.  At all.

Which of the dungeons in MM9 is unfinished?
By the way, I believe Legends of Might & Magic was the first game to feature 3D modeling. I've heard that there was a lot of crossover work between LoMM and MM9, though.

It's been several years, so I forget names, but there was one in particular I'd probably still recognize by sight.  IIRC it was a temple-like dungeon.  By unfinished I mean it's basically just the entrance area and no monsters.  It's an interior dungeon type zone, so clearly it's meant to be a dungeon, but there are no quests tied to it and nothing in it.

Been a long time since I listened to this.  It's still awesome.

I think that post's already been adequately addressed by Acanthus and Duke.  Just roll your eyes and move on.

Apart from Marble Hornets, I've only watched 2 episodes of EverymanHYBRID and read about half of Just Another Fool. How good are these other series? Same question for the blogs; I don't find them quite as entertaining, though.

The only blogs I'd recommend, aside from the meta blogs (e.g. Compile Truth, Slenderbloggins), are M's Tutorial (extremely influential on later blogs and the mythos in general) and Seeking Truth/The Mystic (great story).  I've read a few others, but they haven't been as interesting.  The meta blog summaries adequately cover them IMO.  I actually haven't read any of the other well-known ones (like Maduin's, Zero's, Ava's, Reach's, and so forth), so I can't comment on those.

As for video series, Tribe Twelve has great effects but takes a while to really get going.  The acting remains sub-par, but at least it has acting, unlike most of Marble Hornets.  Angel's Game is supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't watched it.  There are several YouTube accounts involved, but the one I linked should have a playlist that includes everything in chronological order.  That's pretty much all I can say on the video front.  I know there are more out there, but I can't say much about them.

Almost forgot to add links to meta blogs:  Compile Truth (jumped the shark recently, but the various summary videos are nice), Slenderbloggins, Golom Tulpa Anima (hasn't updated in ages), The Slendy Review (likewise), Encyclopedia Slenderia (sporadic updates).

it's a gross violation of international law that sets a dangerous precedent.

Fixed.

I doubt this is the first extrajudicial killing ordered by a government in modern history, let alone the entire history of human civilization.

Does this prevent it from being a murder?  Leaders have been found guilty for state acts of murder in the past (see: Karadzic).

No, but while we've been developing international institutions over the past century that may one day form the basis of an international government, the current state of affairs is still anarchic and governed by realpolitik.  If some state(s) has the might to punish the offense, then justice, or perhaps vengeance, may be served.  Might makes right and all that.  You don't have to like it.

Hmm... was it sanctioned?  Last I heard, Pakistan had no idea about the mission until after it had happened.

I'm pretty sure you know what I meant, but to clarify:  A US military action in accordance with US government orders makes this a state action.

It can be seen as a vulneration of Pakistan's sovereignity.

This is more an addition to what I said than a refutation.

So... what part of Pakistani law contains a provision for this, again?

The US government killed a man in another state's territory.  This was a sanctioned military operation.  This is international territory (i.e. the actors are states).  Pakistan's civil code doesn't seem applicable.

It would be kind of sad if you accidentally ran into someone with your car, killing them, and the international police showed up and arrested you. :( You would already be ate up about the thing and have to hire an international lawyer to defend you.

I'm pretty sure that falls under manslaughter.

Speaking from experience

The sad thread just got sadder.  I'll leave it at that.

But wouldn't that kill the rape victims as well?

Hush, you.  The genocide of inferior cultures is the time-honored tradition of history's greatest empires.

Wow! They're really fucking stupid!

Yes, clearly they are mentally inferior to the civilized peoples of the world.  It has nothing to do with lingering superstitions (and/or superstition-prone institutions?) and dismally poor education. ::)

That article (the raeg one, not Vector's link) demonstrates two common human problems:  Ignorance and arrogance.  If the man is thoughtless, callous, or <insert adjective here>, the cause is probably more a lack of awareness than evil (or the more mild "he's a jerk >:(").

Just trying to provide a thought that isn't lolwut or part of the raeg bandwagon.
