Modding new metals/alloys
« on: January 08, 2015, 12:55:09 pm »

Greetings, i've been trying to remove some features i don't really like or won't use from Evaris' mod Orichalcum Dwarf Fortress, i tried something easy like adding the new alloy "cupronickel" into my game, but failing horribly.

This is what i've been doing so far to add, cupronickel.

Adding this to entity_default.txt to the dwarven civ:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Adding this into inorganic_metal.txt:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And adding this into reaction_smelter.txt:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So after adding this and generating a new world, soil gets changed into weird crap like "never-still cloth" and mineral veins are all messed up.

The error log gives off a bunch of duplicate raws and i seriously have no idea what to do now, i haven't modified neither inorganic_stone_layer.txt, inorganic_stone_mineral.txt nor inorganic_stone_soil.txt...

Post the actual errors?  Clearly you somehow duplicated the things that are duplicated.  Did you make a bunch of back up files and leave them in the active folder?

edit:  i replied in the other thread where you posted your errorlog.
