Empty barrel stockpile?

How can I make an empty barrel stockpile?

Empty barrels get stored in (default) furniture stockpiles, but the specific settings for furniture stockpiles don't seem to have an option for barrels.

I think that would be included in the next release.

They are in the list, but I've never managed to get my dwarves to actually take empty barrels to a barrel-designated stockpile...the stockpile remains empty.  Has anyone gotten it to work?

I've only had a little success with that when I setup that barrel pile with a take-from food pile order

I think it has something to do with barrel-hauling being a very low priority job.  I am on Dec.15 release (22_121_23a) and Dwarves filled my barrel stockpile initially, but later that year I had two stills filled with booze, two booze-only stockpiles with open spaces, lotsa empty barrels and nothing got moved.

Until all my ore and stone stockpiles were filled and the forges were empty of bronze gauntlets.  Then, with 8-9 idlers, barrels started getting moved.  En masse, even.  It just seems superceded by almost every other job, the Job List won't even create the Barrel Hauling jobs if there are any rocks, ores, or items to get hauled instead.

Just what I have observed from my experience.

Ahh.... didn't notice the date of the original post (11 years ago!!!)

Barrel stockpiles work fine right now.  Just make a furniture stockpile and only select barrels.

I knew it was 11 years ago, but I could not find. I got it now, it was on second sub-page, could be something like {more}. Many thanks :)
