That is how I feel but I thought it might be polite to ask around  . I do mod the game but ultimately I feel that the users and potential users of my mod should have a say as well.

I don't play because the new features aren't packaged spereately, and I already installed age of heroes over the original raws.
AoH is similar to yours in that it tries (and succeds) to retain the feel of vanilla.

Actually I think you'll find they are packaged separately in files labeled with EXTENDED like plants_extended.

yeah, add vibranium or whatever the hell you want
