It's not exactly DF proportions, but just read this:

"This new spider was found in caves in southwestern Oregon, a monumental discovery for citizen scientists from the Western Cave Conservancy and arachnologists from the California Academy of Sciences. It hangs from cave ceilings and it has extraordinary raptor-like claws, hence its name — Trogloraptor, or “cave robber.” Its huge claws suggest it is a fierce predator, but no one is certain yet what it eats."

The raptor claw part is terrifying enough, but wait, "no one is certain yet what it eats?" Could it be that there are some tiny dwarves (even by dwarf standards) living in the caves of Oregon and being fed on by this mighty beast?

I've read about these guys, they're pretty neat.

With that scientific name, I'm not discounting some troglodyte/GCS hybrid.

they aren't "giant" cave spiders , they are more like regular cave spiders .
