"C" or "S" on the side of the screen

What does the letter at the very left of the game screen mean? I have seen a red C and a cyan S. Thanks.

C = Combat
S = Sparring

Pressing r will open the logs last I checked...

There can also be a green H that signifies a hunter log.

Basically, these symbols appear whenever a form of combat occurs. The S means that somebody was sparring and are only very rarely anything to be concerned about. The H means that you have a hunter who has attacked a prey animal, which is sometimes something to be concerned about but not usually. The C means that some attack that doesn't fit into the former two categories occurred, which often warrants attention.

Hitting (r) will give a list of "The _____ is fighting!" or similar entries, which you can scroll to and select with ENTER to show what actually happened to that creature involving combat.
