I have played 40.7 for a while and haven't seen any visitors. There is a tavern open to public, and trading goes on normally, so people should come visiting, but there has been no visitor.

The current version is 44.8. Maybe try that one?

Otherwise, make sure your tavern is open to the public?

Be sure to play in a world which actually has a population high enough to produce wanderers (i.e more than a couple of years of history).
Oh, and 40.x didn't have taverns or visitors...

It's a pocket island world with 31 years of history. Probably people haven't started travelling around.

Either that or they're all dead. Pocket world's are too small to have much of anything going on (and leave them long enough and goblins take over the world).

You need a healthy population to free up enough to become visitors, and those visitors are spread over all the visitable sites. My total tally of pocket world visitors (over a lot of attempts over half a year or so after visitors were introduced) is 1... I don't do pocket worlds anymore.
