Some tool for inventory management in adventure mode?

Is there something for inventory management? It's pretty cumbersome to compare and equip items, especially if there is a lot of them in inventory, of different types and qualities.
In my dreams I may imagine some grid-based interface with mouse control and comparison with equipped items but I hope there is at least something to ease this process a bit :)
