Pillars on Pillars

A suggestion just as the title says.
Allow pillars to be built upon pillars, without requiring a floor tile be built on top.

I've been able to build a wall on top of a wall; does it not work for you?

This is the difference between a support and a pillar. A support (which I believe the OP means) is used to prevent something from falling. A true pillar is a wall that has either 0 or 1 neighbours:

or

...
.0.
...



...in which case you can build them up, to create that epic entrance hall/dining hall/whatever that you want to build.

...if you did actually mean supports, however, then this is an interesting idea. I see no reason why not, seeing as you might want to support something two tiles up. Then again, most people use supports only to trigger caveins, and for those it doesn't matter how high up you hold the rock. Then again, if it doesn't require work from Toady, there's no real reason why not...
