In a lot of cases, they get these from game bundles when they already owned the game, so they get extra codes.

Extra Humble Bundle games (for me, anyway). But yeah, game keys that are currently just sitting around not doing anyone any good.

For my part, Frostpunk, Shadow of War and XCOM 2 are extras from past Humble Bundles, while Caves of Qud and Noita are just me buying the game as a gift on Steam.

I'm also buying all 4 games.

Concept of 'steam keys' was unknown to me until yesterday, when I spent half an hour trying to find out how to add Twilight Struggle to Steam :P

There is a series of games that is very dear to my heart (as anyone can tell from my avatar,) it's a series of adventure games (they are made in RPGMaker or something like it, but there is no combat or leveling) called Space Pilgrim (episode one is free, go check it out). I'm going to be giving away the entire collection of 7 games on the 28th. Plus a copy of Sceptic's Guide to Magic (which is a similar game, but with an unrelated story)
