I have finally reached January 1st, 2000; Sudan has become Communist so now Super Israel has commies along nearly it's entire border with the exception of Cyprus which borders Lebanon-Syria and the Neutral Zone which I control. Kenya also became Communist; most of Africa is allied with the Soviet Union and are virtually full connected by land with the exception of Namibia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. South Africa is the only truly free country on the whole continent and has a first world economy. Once I have returned from visiting my family for the holidays, I will begin working on the Millennium Cold War scenario. Afterwards I will either continue playing further into the new millennium OR I will start up a new playthrough with occupying the Soviet Union being a possible goal; should make for yet another interesting scenario.

It's a big country capable of mostly being self-sustaining, so probably. And it's not like all the Communist countries get along.

Agreed. China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia are all non-aligned. I wonder if the Russians should withdraw any troops deployed in those countries for this reason.

I might be able to resume next month and I have until then to determine my next move. Either continue from the start of the New Millennium, begin a new game to try something new, or even both. Regardless which I choose, I will endeavor to convert my latest saved game into a new scenario titled Millennium Cold War.

Would a re-cap be possible? Possibly the state of the game at the start of the MCW scenario? I can go back a few pages instead but I thought I'd ask.

If you have a new scenario to test out I guess that would be a good choice, though I haven't voted yet.

EDIT: I went back a page and I like the idea of the Gorby scenario also

Probably not gonna let the Gulf War go on as long this time. Could help Israel take Iraq again (along with Syria) or just take it over as the United States. And if the Russians go and use nukes in Iraq because they lost the battle there then Soviet sovereignty is forfeit.

Began a new alternate history a few months back in which a severe communications mishap, a major misunderstanding along the chain of command, or even just sheer incompetence resulted in the Russian Federation mistakenly invading the U.S. State of Georgia instead of the former Soviet Republic of Georgia in August 2008.
