Returning from the conquest of Ba, Zhong Tao and his soldiers found his brother Zhong Lu, vagabonding on the highway. "Elder brother, what are you doing here, so far from your lord's castle?" So replied Zhong Lu, "Alas, my master fled ignobly from peasants attacking his castle and left me behind, and so I wander in search of a better master, or honorable life, or both." So replied Zhong Tao, "Come, come with me, my lord is wise and honorable, and will enjoy your arrival!" And so Zhong Tao brought his brother Zhong Lu to Lord of Shu, who was indeed happy to see Zhong Lu, and made him one of his generals.

So Lord of Shu came back home and then visited Chu Jun with gifts of coins and jade, but Chu Jun rejected him for second time. So Lord of Shu thought deeply, and visited Chu Jun for the third time, bringing only a suit of armor and a steel sword. "Now you understand what an old soldier needs." Chu Jun said, and returned with Lord of Shu to his court, and served under him as a general.

Once upon a time...
Soldiers of Wu lamented the loss of Zhang Cheng, who served with them for years, but then a boisterous, stout man laughed at their folly. Enraged, Yuan Hui drew his sword at the man, and thus asked, "Who are you to belittle the late General?!" And so replied the stranger, "I am Yu Zan, and I saw the defeat arriving before you've even left for the Han province!" And so Yu Zan, queried by Yuan Hui, lectured the soldiers on Thirty-Six Stratagems, and the importance of rice and supplies in warfare both small and grand, and Yuan Hui took Yu Zan to Lord of Wu, who, exalted at Yu Zan's knowledge of tactics and strategies, employed him as a general.
