[40C] The Royal Architect
« on: September 07, 2008, 03:22:47 am »

Hi, my first post. And it's a bug report. Woaahhh
Anyways...

I started a fortress, yeah yeah yeah...

One of my dwarves has proficient wood burning and architecture.
Apparently, architects are considered a noble/administrator.
He was never in the nobles list, and he doesn't have any noble labors or anything.
He's just a plain wood burning architect.

Could it be that he is the expedition leader?
(thatīs usually the first dwarf in the list of the first 7)

'White collar' work gets the purple tag for dwarves.  Try getting a high level Appraiser and they'll go purple too.  To my knowledge, though, only Architecture, Trading and Organising give purples to non-nobility, though.

If you train up a record keeper and then un-bookkeeper him, he'll be purple.

Ah yes, such a thing also happens if you disable "Only broker may trade" in the trade depot (for example because the broker is asleep at the moment and the caravan will soon leave) and the dwarf that mans the trade depot instead of the broker gets so much experience from the trade that his job is turned into "trader". In this case it will also give this dwarf a purple color.
