Adventurers can't retire there, so you can't have more than one hanging around at a time.

Can't you crush a human plains town in dwarf mode and just rebuild from there?

That's actually a great idea. Or you could settle on an Elf retreat (just clear it out later with your adventurer).

Pressure plates don't work but levers do.
Because there's an option [ADVENTURER_TRAPS:NO].  ;D

Pressure Plates still don't work after turning that on, it's just another bug, albeit a tiny and insignificant one.

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.

Related question(s): My loot bag started weighing me down a lot, so I came up with the idea of swimming to the middle of the pool in the bottom of a (populated) human town's temple and sinking it, along with my heads bag. Preliminary testing indicates that they will still be there for the life of this adventurer.

So, first question: Is this accurate?
and second: Any chance my sunken loot will remain for future adventurers or a fortress to find?
