Circus Mafia: Eleven mod-confirmed Jesters enter, but only one can take the crown. One day, no deadline, hammers only.
I will run almost anything

1 SK, 1 shotted Cult Leader. SK needs to kill everything. And Cult Leader dies if they target SK. Town wins if Cult Leader and SK are dead with them alive. Cult wins if Town/SK get lynched to death. Power roles sprinkled in as needed. (Maybe add another SK if game is big enough. Cult Shots dependent on size of game.)

I will run almost anything

A game Web designs, in part, to help teach me some of what he wants me to learn about Mafia, in a way not designed to lure me towards the lessons Web wants done, instead of direct confrontation/yelling.  Note there can and maybe should be yelling in my actual role PM, because maybe he can even make that funny.

I propose an idea:  Hydra BYOR.

Each Player joins the game by sending in a Role Name.  (Possibly a couple of other Players they would want to be paired with.)
Players are broken into Teams of two.  In the case of an odd number of Players, one Team of three will exist.

Each Team is assigned a Role made from the combined Role Names submitted.  While each Player has their own vote during the Day, votes, actions, and targets are assigned to Teams.

That might be tricky, but it might also be an interesting way of teaching newer players the game by sticking them with more experienced ones they know they can trust.

True.  Some newer players get scared off because they get targeted pretty easily, so someone they both know is on their side and know is okay to ask for help from is really good!  It's like a Beginner Mafia, but more personal.

The hard part is that a game would probably need... 14+ players to be viable enough.

Looks at previous game.
I'd say a month or two. Be up for a February 14th date.

I'm going to run Choose-Your-Own-Role, a BYOR with
a CYOM twist. When? Signups in a few weeks.

...even worse, you'd need 7+ "experienced" players.

worse still, different vets bring different skillsets.

 - Looking town as town
 - Looking town as scum
 - Finding scum
 - Finding town
 - finding roles
 - coordinating town
 - lying
 - predicting game setup
 - predicting town night actions
 - predicting scum night actions
 - solving for effective night options
 - tracking claims
 - maintaining engagement with the game
 - staying calm under pressure

different new (and veteran) players bring different things to the table, and will want / need help with different stuff. It won't help a newbie if the vet they're paired with has trouble with the same things they want help with.

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

I trust Web's ability to rig the system to avoid mismatches ;D

Hm, I think it would be called Mason Mafia, since all town players are Masons.
