Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 1st of Granite
I knew I had better things to do in this world. I’d been a farmer all my life. My wife had died three years ago, and my children with her. I’d spent months in mourning, and I’m not sure I’m completely over them. I sold all of my possessions, even my wife’s old loom, to the arms and armor merchants, to buy an Iron Flail, an Iron Shield, and a complete set of Iron Chain-Mail. All I’d owned was the clothes on my back, and my iron equipment. I’m going to spend the next few days training.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 13th of Granite
Today is the day. I was tired of training and waiting, but I was feeling a little unsure. I headed off to the tavern for some liquid courage. Feeling full, I headed into town to look for some companions. After a few minutes, and a few turn downs, I found a spearman by the name of Das Rimhero. Oh how I love his name. He was dressed just as well as I. A few moments later, I found another companion. She goes by the name of Quihu Sprayeddikes. She is just a lowly Fisheryworker, but I can make a real woman out of her yet! However, I have to wonder about my companions names, and even my own. They seem… odd. Later still, while talking in the tavern, I tried to recruit a hammerman. upon decline, he ended the conversation with “Heed my words, and consider birth,” and “Consider pregnancy.” These people sound like Zefonists if I didn’t know any better (points if you get my reference)
. Feeling as if I couldn’t recruit any more warriors, me and my friends set off on our adventure.

Ambush! Wolves, no less! Me and Das made quick work of them, while Quihu tried to defeat one. I personally sent 6 wolves to their deaths, while also sending them flying away from me and my companions. Das killed 3 with his death spear, and Quihu beat one to a fleshy lump of gore. I smiled, my armor splattered with blood, and said to my companions, “We have been baptized in blood, friends! Rejoice!” The two cheered, and we set off again.

Where do these wolves come from? Nine wolves attacked us on our travels to see the capital of our nation Dur Sinur. I killed only three, while Das killed four, and Quihu two. Truly this shows our teamwork and excellence.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 17th of Granite
Nothing of interest happened yesterday. Today, Quihu was complaining of hunger. I sighed, and Das and I went hunting in the woods. We didn’t have any hunting weapons, so we picked up rocks and tossed them at our prey. We brought back a total of 3 rabbits, and a duck. Quihu was delighted, and began cooking them immediately. (Note that this entry is complete fluff. It would, however, explain Xugot’s novice throwing skill.).

WOLVES! I hate these foul creatures! How many must we slay in our quest for glory! Five attacked us, but I can’t understand how. It was the middle of the day, and there were few trees around. Das and I killed two, while Quihu strangled one. We frowned, and continued. In the middle of the night we arrived at a large city. I could only hope it is the capital, but I was wrong. The Night Watchman told me and my companions that Sunspointy is nearly a days travel to the east. He also told me that Smige Donkeyrace is there, whoever that may be. We rest at Testedentry. An odd name for a city, that is. We leave at first light.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 19th of Granite
We left early this morning for Sunspointy. Talking around more, I learned that everyone in Testedentry believed in Kepfu, a god of some form. Kind of weird. I have never really been all that superstitious.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 20th of Granite
Stupid compass. Pointed us west. Well, we fount a forest retreat by the name of Apeshin. I wonder what inspired that name. Well rest here for the night and head for Sunspointy in the morning…
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 21st of Granite
Today, while headed to Sunspointy, we were attacked by a cougar. At least it wasn’t a pack of skinny wolves. I had the honor of striking the beast down. I’m kind of amazed that none of us have been even scratched by these overgrown vermin.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 23rd of Granite
Alas, we have found Sunspointy. It’s a whole lot smaller than I thought. It’s smaller than Testedentry, that’s for sure. I’m planning to talk to the leader of this establishment. While searching out the leader, a very strong urge washed over me, growing in my stomach, and exploding out my limbs and mouth. With a surprisingly loud shout, I set fire to a tree right next to a shop. I fear that these urges may get worse over time. I finally found the leader, who turned out to be Smige Donkeyraces. Huh. He said that they were quite untroubled. Well, my hopes were shot for the day, I decided to head into the woods.

Gods above, another cougar! Quihu got the first strike, and I the close second. My blow was much better than hers. I cracked its head with a heavy hit from my blood-soaked flail, snapping it’s neck, and sending it into the nearby pond. Content to let it drown and bleed to death, I started walking away. Quihu was not so pleased. She promptly walked to the waters edge, and punched the cougar in the head, completely obliterating it. I never knew she was so capable. I find myself looking at her with more respect around the campfire tonight. Maybe something more than respect.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 27th of Granite
I find my eyes constantly attracted to Quihu. I have no clue why. She… I don’t know. There’s something about her…
(Obviously, also fluff)
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 28th of Granite
GREAT GODS ABOVE, WOLVES! The vermin attacked us again! I smashed a wolf with my flail, sent it flying and worked on the next one. Quihu attacked the flung wolf. Das was a little late to the fight. I bashed another, smashed it’s neck and head, sent it flying. It whimpered and died where it landed. Das impaled a wolf on his spear, blood spraying out of it’s wound. His attack knocked the wolf that had pounced on me away, much to my chagrin, and I subsequently attacked another one. It was then that I noticed that the impaled wolf was biting one of my toes. I noticed how much it hurt. I kicked it with my other foot as I killed another, and struck the impaled wolf away. Das almost lost his spear, but didn’t. I apologized, but he didn’t seem swayed. Later THAT SAME DAY, wolves attacked us again. I suppose I was pounced because I hadn’t been paying attention. I mean, you’d be distracted if you’d met a girl such as Quihu. Such… After I’d beaten the wolf down enough to look around, I noticed Quihu was being overpowered by a wolf. A fire boiled around my insides and I suppose a certain look in my eye told the wolves around me to back off. I roared, stood up, and rushed to her aid. I started bashing the wolf with all of my strength so intensely, I didn’t notice a wolf come behind me and pounce on my back, biting into my shoulder. I hit the wolf one last time, sending it into a tree, and blasting it apart. I grinned, turned, and hit the biting wolf once, sending it flying into another of it’s kin, where it pitifully bleeds to death. All three of us gang up on the last wolf, killing it quickly, but not so cleanly. I get the killing blow, but Quihu deals the most hurt, bashing it’s brain in with her fist. A third beast ambushed us. This time, much to my chagrin, was a cougar. We disposed of it without much injury. I noticed Das had lost his spear. It was a great asset to our team and we all shall miss it greatly.

Praise the new month. Early in the morning we were ambushed by a cougar. Before any of us can really do anything to the beast, Das was bitten in the hand. It looks pretty bad. His thumb and one of his fingers are badly torn, and a chunk of his palm was ripped out. Das roars and bashes the cougar in the head, forcing a chunk of his hand to fly out of it’s throat. The cougar tries to bite my friend again, but glances off his blood smeared armor. He attacks again, but the beast dodges, and attacks him in return, which he dodges. Quihu charges the beast and pummels it with a flurry if fists. I swear, I have to find her a weapon soon. I get the killing stroke, exploding it’s lower body into bloody chunks and a mess of entrails. Later that day, after I patched Das up, a large black bare assaulted me. I disposed of it before my companions had a chance to react.
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 2nd of Slate
Cougars like to attack in the dead of night, I’ve learned. It assaulted Quihu, which angered me greatly. I immediately rushed to her aid, beating the vile creature to a pulp. At this time, I have killed a total of twenty two animals. Nothing sentient, to my slight displeasure. Quihu looked as beautiful as ever. Man... I could never let her know… or anyone…
Diary of Xugot Creamsoothe, 3rd of Slate
A cougar attacked again. Soon enough, I’m going to stop reporting these stupid animal strikes. While I was distracted by Quihu, the cougar attacked me. I nearly jumped out of my armor. I felled the creature without a thought. Am I really such a monster now? I hope Quihu doesn’t…
I’ve decided to set up camp where we are for the night. I can only hope neither of my beloved companions finds me writing in this journal. Das is kind of nosey at the worst of times, like when in the midst of combat, and Quihu is curious in a good way. I… I love her.
I fell asleep. I was interrupted after a few hours by a rangy cougar. I suppose my companions were out hunting or something along the lines. It bit me while I was alseep and shook me around. I woke with a start and broke the beasts grip. I wasn’t wearing any of my armor, so the cougar left a pretty large gash in my side. I lay there defenseless as Das sprints over and starts bashing the creature with his shield. I still had no idea where Quihu was. I suppose I was worried. Das finally beats the cougar to death. There I was, covered in blood and gashes, worrying about my love, with no concern for my own wellbeing. I found her propped up against a tree, blood pooling in a wide circle, shredded by the cougar that had almost slain me as well. I almost wish it had. A few tears rolled down my cheeks as I picked up her bloody hand, leaned in close, and kissed her dying lips. I cried hard, choking out, “I- love- you-,” before her chest stopped heaving and jerking. I sobbed heavily as I gathered all of her chunks, and placed them with her. I dragged her a few feet, and dug her a grave. I pulled her back and, with the help of Das, who was also in tears, lowered her body into the earth, our tears landing against her skin. Das and I slowly filled the hole with rich soil. I can barely write this. I carved ‘Here lied Quihu Sprayeddikes, a magnificent fighter, a saint, and an amazing woman.’ into a cross. I set fire to the tree in a true funeral pyre., and shoved the cross down into the charred earth. Das and I watched as the tree burned. “I loved her, Das. I Loved her,” I said to the man next to me. “I know you did. I know.” And we both broke down, sobbing like children.
And thus concludes my turn. This turn was brought to you by exhaustion and copious amounts of Separate Ways by Journey.
