I hope this guy won't become a mayor.

I'd hate to see the mandates.

There's also the fact that she adopts every cat born in the fortress the second they are born.

She also appears to like the color "buff".

why bother with mandates at all? just let them go missed and do not appoint the captain of the guard. The mayor will be a bit upset that mandate is ignored but she's a mayor, she has her fancy office with that artifact kaolinite vertical bars in it or smth, she's bound to be constantly ecstatic.

And criminals will be glad to avoid punishment, too.

Make all the nobles' quarters out of porcelain, put a nickel silver grate in the floor for drainage, then flood 'em.

Urist McMandateIgnorer was pleased to admire a tastefully arranged dwarven toilet lately.

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."
You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

My count constantly demands helmet snake tooth items. Thinking of causing an unfortunate accident.

Is there even a use for nobles beyond a manager and bookkeeper? The mayor literally does NOTHING for the game, but get the odd dwarf murdered or thrown in jail by my captain, because they didn't make the shinies he wanted for exports.

I think the mayor talks to upset dorfs to make them feel better. The less useful nobles make the game more FUN.

You tell me... My mayor mandates metal items where there is scarcely a bar to shake a twig at! Now , my only armoursmith is rotting in jail for the next 112 days.

My baron likes rings, and so prohibits their export from time to time.

Our main industry is rock crafts, fueled by three legendary Stonecrafters.  >:(

A baron and above at least are supposed to appoint a Champion among dwarves which boosts morale and such. Not sure if that actually got implemented properly yet.

I don't appoint any captain of the guard, which means I can just ignore mandates entirely.

Give them a nice room and legendary dining hall and they won't be that unhappy.

Every fortress should have a legendary dining hall! Bonus points for a mist generator in the dining hall or over the booze stockpile.

Yeah, right now there's not much of a use for a guard captain...

Hopefully when taverns and travelers arrive, you'll need a real justice system.  Also as personality rewrites happen we may get dwarves who are prone to criminal behavior.

But right now the only criminals are people who don't waste precious resources on nobles' silly demands, which kind of defeats the purpose of having justice at all.

What version is this?  I checked the most recent raws and chickens no longer appear to have teeth, unless this guy is just making up nonsensical stuff.

You can also check your raws (I *think* it's in creature_birds.txt) and look for a line like this under chickens:
[BODY:HUMANOID_ARMLESS:2WINGS:2EYES:2LUNGS:HEART:GUTS:ORGANS:HUMANOID_JOINTS:THROAT:NECK:SPINE:BRAIN:SKULL:4TOES:BEAK:RIBCAGE]

Note the lack of "TEETH" in that list.  I'm just asking because this is clearly a bug, but it's not clear how it's related to the known bugs (i.e. whether they're just liking things that can't be obtained from butchering, or if they're liking things that simply don't exist).
