Color questions
« on: August 08, 2024, 02:35:39 pm »

What influences the color of non item/creature objects?  Like wall color, floor color, contaminant color, etc. I notice that all creature extracts are blue once they're spilled on the ground, even modded ones.

Walls and floors use the STATE_COLOR of the object. Contaminants use a more limited way to transform colors, they will be blue and watery if organic or lava if inorganic. There are a few exceptions. Organic materials with BLOOD_MAP_DESCRIPTOR will change color to match the default colors based on the closest color in the tileset. SLIME_MAP_DESCRIPTOR inorganics, from evil weather, are the only contaminants that dynamically change color to match their material palette.
