Remember that something special I said I'd do for this?

This please.

Spoiler:  Here you go (click to show/hide)

took a small break from work, probably gonna be the only piece I'll post today :P
This is terrifying. I love it.
Anyway, this whole thread is incredible. I don't have any fun stories myself, but I'll come back the moment I do.

Hello gents. Remember me? I'm back. I apologise for my absence; I've been conscripted into the military and just went through basic.

Currently I've been posted to a desk job and I think I can afford the time to reopen this. I might not go through the already present backlog of requests though; just looking at it makes my head hurt; but I might go back to doing some if I'm feeling productive :V Also, drawings may not be done on mspaint, most likely pen/pencil on paper.

Anyway, I think I've given enough excuses, request away!

AW YEAH. Welcome back.

Mkay, so on the first fort I ever tried cracking the HFS in, it went terribly (obviously). Luckily for me, the fort was very spread out over the z-layers, with lots of chokepoints, and the HFS went down to the magma forges before coming up to the fortress proper. Unluckily for me, I thought that drafting everyone into the military would make the demons go away. A few fiery explosions of gore later, and I'm down from 180+ dwarves to 2. The demons are busy 7 levels down in the catacombs, defiling every coffin and slab they can find, which seems pretty demony to me, and, meanwhile, I had one dwarf child running about in the residential areas and another dwarf, my mayor, lying in hospital, dying of a combo of slow necrosis syndrome and my-leg-is-gone syndrome. After going down to check on the demons one last time before abandoning, I come up to the residential level and see that the child is gone. I look around, and find her in the hospital. Not resting wounds, she was fine, just having a meeting with the mayor. The mayor, suffering from mortal and very painful injuries, is spending his last remaining moments comforting a child he's never met. He dies soon afterwards. Before I abandoned, I checked the girl's thoughts. There was only one positive one: "Was pleased to make a new friend recently."

DRAW THE FEELS.

I got back to the game after the new release came out, but I waited a few versions. My new fortress was great, lots of wood, great metals, a river for fishing.. However the new climbing system was a little bit bugged and I didn't assign a meeting area. This caused a hilariously horrible situation in my Fort and gave birth to a legend of dwarven children. Take a seat and listen to the story of..

Rain of Children's Corpses

From the diary of Urist McAnonymous
Day XX
Things have been odd in the Ancientrage of Apes. We've worked a lot and dug deep, however our children have gone missing. Goblins have not been seen, nor dingos, so these disappearances are a mystery. Urist McWoodcutter did claim he had seen some of them go wander in the hills, but his eye sight is a bit poor so we're not certain what he saw.

Day XX5
Our son has gone missing. Uriste McWife was upset and distressed, and I do need an extra drink.

Day XXY
I went chopping trees when I saw Urist McWoodcutter get killed by something falling off the tree. By Armok. The corpses. The children. They are raining down from the trees. I can't handle this. Oh god, oh Armok spare us...

Long story short my kids got bored and with no meeting zone assigned they started wandering outside. This lead to them climbing up trees and getting stuck in the branches, and going missing. The situation was only solved when the wood cutters started chopping down trees and were greeted by a literal rain of child corpses. Some of them died from getting struck by the corpse falling, some got injured, most went insane from sorrow and caused a big tantrum spiral, killing 97% of the population of the fortress.

In the end, there were only 4 dwarves left: 2 babies, one insane adult and a kid, whose personality treat was something along the lines: "Doesn't get discouraged often. Doesn't get depressed often." So despite everything her happiness never. went. down. She happily lived her life in the middle of the chaos, where her friends ran off to die up in trees and then her family went insane and died.

I was half tempted to continue the fort just to create her epic story but with no workers and migration cancelled from all the horrors that occurred the fortress was doomed.

My dwarven adventurer charged at a giant bark scorpion and cut his leg off with an axe. The scorpion then RIPPED my arm off with his pincer! While I was crawling away, my pikeman stabs it through the heart, killing it instantly.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

A massive thank you for all your works, i've had great amusement from it. The cat killing the dragon and the bird being put in the cage of the guys room were my favorites. But all have given me a smile which after a few shitty irl days has brightened my mood considerably.

I was recently inspired with a reread of boatmurdered to play DF again, any chance of having (as the common theme was) some goblins hanging around outside the door, too stupid to unlock it, whilst some magma engulfs them?

Thanks again and keep up the awesome work!

I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

One of my hammer dwarves got his upper spine broken fighting a minotaur, he continued to fight by biting the minotaur's head while a swordsdwarf hacked at its ankles... the minotaur finally died after another hammerdwarf came up and bashed the minotaur's head in, presumably after shouting, "What the hell are you guys doing?"

I recently had a murderous adventurer, which, on his lust for blood, killed 23, until he headed towards the mead hall and got his leg's nerves servered (He killed the swordman). He got so pissed off, he killed 140 more humans, dwarfs, gobbos and all that stuff. He eventually became a vampire and the lord of a local city. Even without his legs, people still feared his mad fury that he unleashes with his copper battle axe. He later became bored and retired as the lord.  He was, Nelti, the Head-chopper Intense Lyrics.

(Some weeks later...)

Created another adventurer, a good guy, indeed. He brought a crossbowman and a pikeman to kill the vampire. He can't even stand, how can someone slow as this be such a threat? I was wrong... Shortly after i accused him of being a children of the night, he scrambled fast as shit towards my pikeman and spilled his guts (Sorry, i didn't tell that he got a steel axe after looting some bodies  :P), chopped his head off and ran after my crossbowman, that couldn't aim shit. I charged towards him (I mean run) and stabbed my sword on his chest, but he parried and almost hit me, but i always put dodger to adept. I then chopped his axe arm, his shield arm and stabbed him at the head, which teared apart the brain. I claimed the site for myself and no one ever complained about and tried to start some kind of rebellion against me. I then retired as the lord of Colorburns. This was Jasro Hearthyouth....

Also, Jasro is now the quest giver of my new adventurer.
