@All but Lilinoe:

"All set?" Otwin speaks to the guards, who nod.

"Then let's go. It's really not far from here, our manor that is."

Few mintues later
Ravenkeep Manor

Having had a villager sent forth to the Manor, Merewin enters the dining hall to find his father already waiting. The elder Ravenkeep muffles a coughing fit into his right hand.

"I'm glad to see all is well, Merewin."

"Father." The two Ravenkeeps embrace each other for a brief moment.

"Right, father, this is Lord Bergmann Spearhawk, his son Otwin, and Knight Irmina of Whiterun. They were beset by brigands, and we rescued them."

"Brigands? I heard something about a carriage, not brigands?"

"Indeed, one of the axles broke. But shortly afterwards we were beset by brigands!"

"We lost one man.  If not for your son and his people, Lord Ravenkeep, I believe we would lose many more than just one guard."

"I'm Richart Ravenkeep. I'm simly glad we could render assistance." The three nobles exchange handshakes.

"Father, the carriage is still broken. A carpenter ought to be sent."

"We did send helpers, or am I going senile already?"

"Well, mister Orwin did, but they kinda, uh, ran away-"

"They fled like cowards the moment situation went awry!" Otwin explains more bluntly, making Richart grit his teeth in displeasure.

"I am ashamed to hear of that. Merewin!"

"Yes?"

"Please find Hartman and send him with someone to see that the carriage is repaired."

"Sure, father." Merewin quickly turns on his heel and walks away, while Richart herds the guests towards the tables.

"I'm sure you must be hungry after the trip and the battle. I will have a meal prepared shortly, even if my household currently cannot offer much."

"As long as it is not oatmeal with raisins, I'm sure I can manage." Richart chuckles at that, before a coughing fit takes him. The knight looks at Richart with worry.

"Are you alright, your lordship? Is it something I could help with?"

"No, I'm afraid. But I'm feeling fine, do not worry." Despite Richart's assurances, Bergmann and Otwin exchange stares briefly.

"Please, be seated, dear guests." He then quickly abandons said guests to approach Markus and others.

"Explain, what brigands? What happened? Also, where's Lilinoe for that matter??"

[Solymr]

: Lillinoe stayed with the carriage to guard Lord Spearhawk's books. It seems he's a scholarly sort.

: As for the bandits, they began their assault right before we arrived, so we were able to intercept most of them. Strange timing though... Markus grumbled, but there were too many things going on to stop and think properly about this one.

[Haspen]

@Everyone except Lilinoe:

"Don't you worry too much?" Richart chuckles, but then becomes a bit serious.

"The area seems to attract weird happenings, though. It could be prudent to be cautious, my old friend. Keep your eyes peeled open, will you?"

"Lord Ravenkeep! Will you please join us?"

"Oh, of course. Come, you all, you've earned the place around the table along our guests."

"That is true. Don't be shy!"

@Lilinoe:

Tap.

Tap tap tap.

Fwoosh - and the rain returns, as a drizzle this time than a downpour, but it was making everything unpleasantly wet. The guards grumble and glare at the clouds, but keep doing what they were told to do, guarding the carriage.

The leathery roof offers some protection if one would enter.

"Hm... I'd join, but I think I'll pass. I find myself rather not hungry at the moment. But perhaps I'll play a little song while you all sit?"

[Haspen]

"Excellent idea! What songs do you know?"

"Anything but Rhedonnian sorrow-ballads!"

"Well, it's been a while, Andrea..." Richart himself sits at the table.

The eyes of the nobles are all on the bard now.

"Exciting." As a (former) promising religious singer, Aras had grown more interested in other song traditions after his "relocation".

"I certainly know a few songs, though my favorites are 'The Lance and the Veil' and 'The Last Knight of Rhedonnia'. Unfortunately the later is a rather tearful tale, so our song for tonight shall be one of romance it seems" Andrea says, dusting off her dress before she moves to a seat off to the side, picking up her violin and preparing its tuning for the night.

[Haspen]

"Well, what does the lady of the table say?"

"The Lance and the Veil it is. I haven't heard it, I believe."

"And I've heard it only sung by men, so this will be a refreshing experience."

Richart, instead of speaking, coughs a little into his fist.

Liilnoe frowns at the rain


"I'm going to go inside to make sure the books are safe from the rain." She says to the guards that stayed though not really caring about getting any sort of permission before stepping into the carriage and looks at what books were stored inside.

@Lilinoe:

The guards stare impassionately at Lilinoe, but doesn't seem to be bothered.

Inside, there was no books!

Only a pair of large, wooden chests, with double padlocks. No doubt the nobleman's personal effects and the books were safely stored there, far from potential thieves and nosy scholars.

Lilinoe puffs her cheeks seeing the locked chests. If this was one of her usual adventures she would definitely attempt to get into them but right now she wasn't on one of her adventures and didn't want to risk causing any problems for Richart. So instead she just leaned back in the carriage pouting as she looked around it to see if there was anything else of interest left out in it.
