So, this seems like it's going to be a useless Day 3.  Either I get voted and Agentt gets roleblocked, or Agentt gets voted and I get roleblocked.  I concerns most players won't bother to do any other critical thinking, and it's possible that we're both town.  Mafia LOVE to create a scenario where Day 3 is limited to considering two players that are both Town, and will actively manipulate the town into creating days that such things occur.

I'll vote Agentt, then Agentt can vote me, maybe we can pretend to actually do something, then might as well end the Day so you can go into HATLO since apparently someone has 3 hats.  And maybe you can try to win HATLO without me, even though my entire role was designed towards helping town win against HATLO.

Sorry Jim, there doesn't seem to be much else to figure out.

All my Abilities are:

Grand Theatre: Be part of Theatre chat
Games: Choose a target, if they are targeting Theatre Chat they will get roleblocked.
Something something: track someone if you have a chat with them.

And this one.

I see now that a bit earlier before when I joked with Kriss how I can't do anything, I accidentally said Magma took my tracking ability. That was wrong. I believe I reported correctly on D2 that Magma Usurped my roleblocking ability.
1. C
2. C~B
3. C~B
4. (roulette protection one) C

Now that Tric pointed out, considering that my abilities are:
1. S
2. B~A
3. D~A

It kind of does feel quite different. Jack's was at least somewhat close.

Meh, I wouldn't try to out guess the mod. I have 1 F-tier ability and one B-tier.
Yeah, Fallacy's balancing skills are still quite poor, and this is a 14-player game.

Maybe not so much for Jim.  Being a whinny bitch is Jim's town meta.

Please remember to be at least moderately respectful of our fellow mafia players. We're all here to have a fun time. Fuck you Fallacy

[....]

The Canadian kitten was Town.

Alright, so it appears that out of the players voting The Canadian Kitten, it's entirely possible none of them were mafia.  I bet the scum chat erupted in laughter, and I look forward to reading about it after the game.

It also appears that there was most likely at least one mafia that didn't vote at all.  I'm specifically looking at Agentt and Jim Groovester, with a slight possibility of VermillionSkies.  I generally think that VermillionSkies is town, but their unkillable ability would make sense on a scumteam of three people as added insurance.  We still don't know if VermillionSkies can die from a lynch, although I'm thinking it's possible.

@VermillionSkies: If we lynch you, do you stay dead?

I don't like how NQT has been mainly chasing useless leads. I think their going after VermillionSkies on Day 1 was stupid, and I think their general crossvoting of Toastercultist on Day 2 was useless.  But as NQT said about themselves, they're basically useless as town, so I guess that is more null than scum.

I'm still largely confused about all the actions and claims, but gut instinct is that Tric, Toonyman, and Imp are the ones most likely to go for HATLO.
Maybe Magma as well. Just because I think they're town doesn't mean they don't want to win by the most fun means.

Salvatore Monday probably would naturally go for HATLO if they could, but they just haven't been around long enough to do so, what with the recently risen from the dead and all.

Ok, I've posted like a full page so far, so I'm gonna shut up and let people look over it.

I doubt anyone is gonna bother doing any critical thinking anyways, so it's just gonna be an Agentt vs. EuchreJack determination for most folks.
Vote for Agentt! He can't protect you from HATLO and filthy immigrant mafia! Only Trump EuchreJack can save you!

It seems VermillionSkies has lost their red marker. Unfortunately, nobody has any spares.

Bummer.

VermillionSkies has lost one vote.

Day 2 ends today, at 11:00 PM Central time. Friday, March 14th, 2025. Or on a hammer.

However, if I get news that someone is soon to replace in for toastercultist, I may extend the Day in advance.

Elephant Parade made the point in spectator chat that it would be better to tie Day length to player count, not the Day number. I'll probably adjust the system I use in future.

I'm not sure I like that. That would have made Day 1 in this game a Fortnight...

Mm, not one day per player, more like, ranging between a high value and a low value depending on player count.

Something like, just spitballing -

12+ players? 72 hours.
7-11 players? 48 hours.
6- players: 24 hours.

Not sure whether a 96 hour count would be a good idea. At a certain point, more time stops helping.

I feel like I don't have much to add here that hasn't been mentioned by others. Agentt and EuchreJack are scummiest mechanically. Jack did not a whole lot during D2. Despite my strong town read of Agentt during D2 tying the vote in favor of CrystalizedMire made me reconsider.

I think I'm most interested in seeing how people who didn't come away so cleanly on Day 2 assess the game. E.G., what Agentt, EuchreJack's reads are and how they solve the game. I think I'd throw VermillionSkies into this category as well, and maybe Imp too. I don't think I have anything to worry about from ToonyMan, Magma Mater, Krr1ss, or TricMagic (except hat tyrant stuff). notquitethere feels good as well but perhaps not as intensely. toastercultist is replacing out but I really don't see tc being scum after breaking a tie against CrystalizedMire so late during D2.

I guess I forgot about Salvatore Monday. I guess I trust that our lord and Savior Monday rose on the third day as much as I trust ToonyMan.

Day 2 ends today, at 11:00 PM Central time. Friday, March 14th, 2025. Or on a hammer.

That's a little sooner than I was expecting.

If that's the situation you think we're in, i.e., a false choice between you and Agentt, who do you think is likely responsible for it?

since apparently someone has 3 hats.

Magma Mater has my three hats.

I posted my response to the game design question on the game design discord, rather than take up more space in an active game to discuss, however I will also post it below in spoiler:

Well, I bear some responsibility since I wasn't around much on Day 2.  I still haven't caught up, and I likely never will.
Kr1ss is also at fault because they uselessly spammed up the thread, although they're just uselessly filling up space as town rather than committing actual malice.

As far as mafia actually creating a false choice scenario, I figure it's you or NQT that would have that level of skill as mafia players.  I'd be surprise if neither of you are on the mafia team, but also delighted that we apparently have some skilled mafiasos in our newer players.

There is also the fringe cases of Toony doing a scum resurrection, which this forum has seen, but Toony has seemed fairly townie and I don't think this would be the day that scum!Toony would use such an ability if he had any choice in the matter.  Also, despite my many, many, many criticisms of Fallacy, he's not truly a bastard mod, so I doubt he would include a scum resurrection ability, even if he did outright state this game would be slightly bastard.

Story of D3 as I see it, up to post #1335, and I'm staying a cool 8 pages behind current.  Clearly I can't finish this tonight.  However I managed to get past the absolute Imp's soul is destroyed on sight #1333.  I'll comment on that and then keep going as I can.

Krr1ss - Every time I attempt to read #1333 my brain decides to freeze up and I feel ill.  I'd vote this for something's wrong but I'm already doing that.

What I believe Krr1ss is claiming... and again, why bother.  player lies constantly.  Changes his story and argues he didn't.

But I believe he is claiming:

1) Every action he is targeted with will fail.  Though he has some way to allow actions to affect him.

2) Can target someone and magic happens; at the end he knows a target chain and how many in the chain that night killed.

3) Additional super secret mumbojumbo

4) Has 'hat nobody can take' that means he tiebreaks if he's a vote on a tie.

5) He also claims brain fog preventing him from clearly remembering his reads or otherwise 'playing properly' and that this is unique to this game.

Adding to Krr1ss claim would know if he's targeted for factional maf kill.

This has to be SK in a FBYOR game, I do believe. Or lies, punish scummy behavior.  Anyone alive and able at some point destroy the terrifying slot here, mkay great.  Today's nice.

Car Accident got turned into another One-shot Day ability. One that I'll probably be using today. I might get run over again, I'm not sure.

Hey, so I reloaded the 1-shot?  That's a potential use for me to retarget it again it if I don't do other things, I imagine I can blenderize you and refill again with whatever it next becomes; will have to see what makes sense to have on my list of who/what to pick between targeting tonight.

Okay.  Will see what kinda notes I can make as I read onwards.  My mind's so full m'thoughts are oozin' out m'eyes.  Sleep soon and I value this game as much as I value the rest of my life.  A vote for Krr1ss is a good vote, let's 'elect' Krr1ss before it's too late.  I feel like I'm back in Max's Supernormal or something, it feels that scary.

@Imp: I can confirm that my action on Krr1ss failed, so that part at least is true.  Yes, I think they suck as a player, but I think they suck in a Townie way.
If you want to vote meaningfully, look at myself and Agentt, and vote one of us.  While doing so, just keep an eye on everyone else.

I know my flip is gonna be town, so analyze why people are voting me.  I tend to believe Tric blocked Agentt, and since no kill occurred, that does point at Agentt or me.  So also analyze why people are voting Agentt.

Apparently, Magma is gonna go for HATLO tomorrow, so everyone should kill him tonight if able, or I can kill him tomorrow if I'm still alive. I'm largely believing Jim on that, but regardless of his alignment, HATLO means everyone but Magma loses, so Jim has 100% pure reasons to be truthful on this.

(we saw from Crystal that fake flips exist)

Are you talking about the town-ally her flip shows?

Crystalizedmire was Mafia.

Crystalizedmire was 'Three penguins in a trench coat'.

Three penguins in a trench coat (Mafia)
What? Kobolds? No, those're your cousins.

(Auto) Multitasking: How much mischief can three penguins get up to? You can use an additional non-Free action per Night.
(Night) Mischief [target]: Quite a lot of it. Your target is randomized, and their Hats are randomly distributed among the living players.
(Night) Ice Floes [target1][target2]: They're slipping all over the place! Actions targeting your first target are redirected to your second target this Night.
(Night) Obvious Disguise [self]: But little did they know... Investigative actions used on you return alignment / role information as if your role was Obvious Disguise, for the duration of this Night.
(1-Shot, Mafiakill, Night) Giant Snowball [target]: A comically effective means of murder. You roll your target over with a giant snowball, killing them. This bypasses protection and kill immunity, and prevents revival.
(1-Shot, Mafiakill, Night) Queen For A Day [self]: Completely undeserved, but you'll take it, and make a mess of things. Can only be used the Night after a Mafia player is executed. For the duration of the following Day, you are Crowned, and you have the only vote. During the Night after that, the Mafiakill cannot be used.

(Reference, Role) Obvious Disguise (Town-Ally)
A perfectly normal human being, bearded and tall.
(Auto / Night) Obvious Disguise [target / self]: You can't see anything under the trenchcoat. This ability does nothing.

That's a maf flip.  Alive and alignment inspected, that's when maybe a false inspect can happen - flips so far appear true?  I mean.  If flips are not true - who knows.  Maybe our lie-prone Krr1ss also is looking at a way to fake someone's flip.

Ignoring Krr1ss for the moment, so far nobody's discussed having a role inspect.

And this one role had multiple 1-shot KP, plus presumably the free mafiakill.

All these kill methods on one player.  A game with 1 kill so far and so many ways to find killers.

Web of res and detect kills claims that I notice:

- Verm had a 'sinner' inspect that was changed, that finds killers I think someone marked from some other game or something, Verm do you confirm that's what it does?
- Toaster claimed an 'innocent' inspect, that's maybe the same thing just a 'didn't kill'.
- Krr1ss claims can find killer-count among the new threaded folks, and complains that it doesn't track everyone ever threaded forever.

We have Toony saying 'I can res' and showing a res, pretty spiffy.

We have one visible kill so far, already ressed.

I'm reminded of NQT's CYOS2 game, where we had an SK and 2 separate maf teams and really loads of KP, some of it town (and town was the only one killing, but here Sal says Crystal killed him).  But despite huge amounts of kills possible, people pretty much didn't kill.

Same pattern this game?  I can't confirm at this time.

FoU also loves to mess with assumptions, I presume, since FBYOR6 had lovely 'inspect as a Pirate' and 'if a pirate aligned player ever kills you' and other things - but no actual pirate alignment folks.

We know we have 1 maf team only, cause it's called Mafia and not something else.

Do we have a lot of killers saying 'it's Lent, not killin' right now' or something?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYzr2l1wbAc

Except, it's "The killer(s) just not that into anyone (yet)" or something I suspect.

Maybe 1+ killer's really trying to get the lock off their kill power. And me sitting here with... well.  I'ma potential swiss army knife of modify stuff. And so far nobody's blocked me or otherwise harmed me that I can tell, except for that thread which MAYBE doesn't harm (or just doesn't harm yet).  So, nobody cares/minds or important folks want me to adjust them.  Annoyingly I only get confirmation that I succeeded or not - I don't get details of what change happened.

Did I miss other 'detect killers' or 'res' or related claims already made?  If it's after #1345 I'll get there, if it's from before I'd love help to remember/catch.
