I'd have to say that I'm with the people who just turn EVERY SINGLE IMMIGRANT into a mason.

I honestly don't see any immigrants as useless. If i get someone with professions i don't need, then i assign them to professions i do need. So they might take longer to get to a good proficiency with those jobs, big deal.

Ever get someone who's ONLY skill is Legendary Lair? I did once.He wasn't useless mind you, he eventuilly became the meatshield my Legendary Armor user,sheild user, dodger, fighter, and hammerfdwarf used before killing a forgotten beast.
