You're not going to get useful data on game players in general by polling an internet forum, and I'm surprised you didn't already know that.

P.S. I pick something that blends into the background.

Good point. Though, it depends what he is looking for : due to self-selection bias he won't be able to make rock solid stats on what players do. However, he might be able to spot and categorize some different behaviours, keeping in mind that he would have seen only the  emerged part of the iceberg.

Also, another question that could have been useful to categorise players, is how much we play (or how often we have online games)

and the other sticks diodes onto people and measures them while they play stimulating games

I totally misread this at first.

Ah, just saw what you were referring to... Okay, that was a fairly well-supported misread. Other parts of the sentence made perfect sense (as much as I didn't want them to!)

On question 6. I don't like this feature, not because I'm worried that others will choose the same colour, but because making a nice colour with RGB can be annoying.
Unless, of coarse, you can select pre made colour schemes.

See, I'm the total opposite. Give me RGB sliders any day. (But NOT Terraria RGB values that are dependent on each other.)

I think that the ability to see my own units on the minimap when i lose track of them is more advantageous then the enemy not seeing them. Besides, if they're colorblind, I get the best of both worlds.

Submitted.

I try to go with something that fits, like in C&C i'd try to use orange for GDI, red for Nod, etc.. Otherwise, i don't usually have much of a preference (though i'm not picking pink if i have a choice :P).

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.

to everybody that has participated thank you very much. Currently there are 230 responses which is very decent indeed!

tomorrow the questionnaire will have been open for a full week. which seems like a good moment to close the questionnaire, begin data harvesting and make the data public.

We'll have to figure out a nice way to display the data but we'll also make the raw data public.

Interesting :)

Also: jealous. In my time there was only the GameDesign course at the HK-Utrecht, and I failed their test for being too conceptual and too little visual. :(
