The server is going to be up until the end of the billing cycle, but the service has been cancelled. I'm not sure exactly what day it will end, but the save posted is the official final save.

Hey, it's been a minute. It looks like it's been over two months since the last post, so now seems like as good a time as any to announce that I'm planning on either shutting down the server or passing it off to someone else entirely. I'll be posting the world save here soon, but - if anyone wants to take over paying for hosting - now is the time to say it.

Oh dear God at least give me a copy of the save file.

No worries, I'm not going to take anything down without making sure everyone who wants a copy of the save gets it.

Since it sounds like there are still a few people playing, I'm fine with leaving it up for longer. I'll revisit this at the beginning of March and we'll see whether the server will be passed off to someone else or what.

Hey everyone! Bumber is now an admin on the server and has access to all of the server administration tools, so he can enable structures, add mods, whatever everyone agrees on. I made a backup of the world as well, so we can always revert if something breaks during experimentation.

Sorry I've been so absent as an admin - I haven't had a lot of time for side stuff. I've left the server up because I always disliked building things only for a server to mysteriously disappear when the host gets bored, so I'll keep it up as long as people are still playing.

Alternatively, if everyone is tired of vanilla, we can retire this map (i.e. put the backup on Dropbox for anyone who wants it to download) and create a new server with a bunch of mods.

Server is back up! Thanks Th4DwArfY1 for sending me an email. The cause of the recurring downtime is that the hosting provider seems to hate autopay even though I thought I had it set up correctly. Since that doesn't seem to work, I'm gonna just dump some money into the account for the next few months.

The server has been updated! It is now on version 1.14.4 and has both structures and NPCs enabled in newly generated chunks. If everything breaks, please let me know. I made a new backup just in case.

Th4DwArfY1 has kindly volunteered to scream really loudly at me if the server goes down again. Feel free to message me if you'd like that honor as well.

Can you make a backup of the world and update to 1.14.3? Hostile mobs have now stopped spawning when I'm the only one on. We really need those bug fixes.

Hopefully! I'm moving apartments this weekend, but things should be a lot calmer after that's wrapped up.

I second the motion to upgrade, purely so I can use mods.

Let's get some opinions on settings and mods. From what I've heard over this server's lifetime, it sounds like people would prefer to keep villagers and generate structures on worldgen, as well as update the server to the latest version of the game. If I was to zip up the world data and post it here for posterity (so that everyone still has access and it could theoretically go on another server), would anyone be opposed to updating the server, installing mods, and creating a new world? Or would it be better to keep the same world, install a few mods that are compatible with the existing world, just update the server (assuming the save is compatible, which it should be)?

Also, I would need a mod list. If we keep the same world, what mods would everyone like? If we generate a new world, what mods would everyone like on top of the save-compatible mods?
