A Make-Your-Own-Adventure Game
« on: July 17, 2011, 04:20:41 pm »

I tried running something like this a while back, it sadly died, but I digress. Most Text Adventures have one man being the man who writes the adventure, and all of the others being the people who provide commands.

This is not that adventure.

Here, you post an action... AND the result that goes with it. It's anything goes, bar a few things for sanity measures.

1. No random main character killing. Sub-character holocausts are fine.
2. Nothing too stupid. Can't go from a serious final showdown to eating cake in your room directly. However, feel free to lighten the mood by aplying fluffy hats.
3. Uh... there isn't a 3.

So, to get the ball rolling, I'll...

>Game: Start

A person of unknown gender, age and features is standing in an equaly unknown room. Let's just clear some of that up, shall we? For starters, what is he/she/its/Justin Bieber's (Yes, Justin Bieber requires his own category) name?

>Game Start

Name: Anit Notit.
Gender: ?
Room: An exquisite furnished wooden room. Doors to the north, west and east. A window to the south facing a lake surrounded by a forrest. The room's wall are made of timber stocks and the floor of polished wood planks. There is a desk to the left on the northen wall and a drawer on the right side. Two bookcases are sandwiching the western door, filled with intellectual subject of a wide variety.

On the eastern left wall hangs one large portrait of a person, impossible to indentify because of its age. On the right side hangs two smaller photos, one framed in wood and the other in what seems to be plastic. Both show a family but on each of them the person in the middle has it head cut away and the picture in the wooden frame is much more faded than it in the plastic one. While hard to see it would look like that would be the same person but that can't be, they are not from the same time period.

On the southern wall there are several flowers in flower pots, both on the wall, floor and hanging from the roof. A sweet fragnance can be smelled from there, most likely from the several pots of Jasmine. There is on table amidst the flowers and on it stands one single oil lamp, filled with oil. It is night.

>Open north door, walk inside.

Something like this? If not then laugh at my faulty English reading comprehension.

That was fine, but in the future, make it like MSPA minus the images. For example;

> Anit: Trump like an elephant and make foeces on your table.

N... no! Why would you do that? The last time you did, you couldn't get the stains outt for ages.

I guess no one wants to go ahead and make the story. I guess I could start...

Quote
>You open the door to the North.

You are immediately assualted by a rank, acrid smell what your primal instincts tell you can only be rotting flesh-and the more tangy smell of recently expended cordite. Not that your not used to it by now. You've done very bad things to get where you are now. And your about to do worse.

Room: As exquisite as the room that preceded it-the West wall is dominated by a plush, four poster bed with red silk sheets with two nightstands, one of mahogany, one of Ivory. On the Ivory nightstand is a artful handblown table lamp and a scrap of ragged yellow papyrus, on the mahogany nightstand, a worn down piece of red chalk and a revolver with a no bullets remaining. Within the ivory nightstand, one would find a pack of six speedloaders for the revolver, and a very special book. Within the Mahogany nightstand, one would find only death-it's wired to four pounds of C4, and triggered to explode when opened.

The North wall directly across from you is covered with a richly woven tapestry, depicting some very unsavory things being done to people in the Depth of Hell. One can barely discern the outline of a door beyond it.

The East wall leads into a walk in closet, in where you would find a few business suits, assorted shoes, your ceremonial robes, and the long rotted corpse of your brother.

On the floor of the room is a pentagram written in red chalk, with a circle drawn around it, and a line of arcane runes in that circle.

>Open the mahogany nightstand, get the bullets, reload the revolver

Was the old one you made the one with the carrot jetpack and the Chuck Norris Expy for a dad? If it was that one could I have a link to it? I've been wanting to take a look at it again...

You search through the nightstand, withdraw the bullets and slowly place them into the revolver. As you reflect on how you got here you become lost in thought for a few moments.

Suddenly you hear a noise from the room you had just left

Yay! My turn!

You turn around. The door... it's bolted shut. There's no way anyone can get in... or out. Your chronic migraine hits again. Hard. You pop some pills, but they barely affect you. You turn back to your brother. He was no match for your power. No, it wasn't your power that did him in. It was Fortalulz, the self-declared lord of madness, who murdered your brother. That pentagram... it's used up now. You'd have to draw a new one to get that power back.

The door begins to shake. No, not shake. It vibrates. The steel deforms and the vibrations become stronger. What the hell is going on? Finally, the door gives way. Behind it stands a stunned child, frozen in a knock-on-the-door posture. Unlike everything else, he looks clean. You wonder what to do next.

"I was looking for the basement. I have to get to the basement before the moon comes up."

He looks really scared.

You look outside. The sun is low in the horizon and you see the moon has already risen high in the sky, just a sliver of foggy white against the clear blue sky. Uh oh.

On closer inspection, you can't but help but notice something is very, very wrong-he looks just a little too innocent, too perfect, more like a artistic representation or a second hand mimicry of what someone making a Human would assume they look like. And his shadow, while dim, shifts and distorts around his form. In fact, your fairly sure this isn't a kid at all. Then again, you've been wrong before. Nevertheless, You level your revolver at him-not that it will do any good. The Kid's frightened act drops in a half second, and he just smiles.
