(The man seems to hold a close resemblance to a character from LSD. I presume it wasn't a coincidence?)
It's a coincidence; I'm not sure what LSD could be referring to aside from drugs.

The three words that spell an ominous event.

Back off from both of them and see if this mysterious man does anything to the cliff-hanger. If he kills the cliff-hanger for no reason, and the hanger seems helpless, I suggest you run. If he calmly talks to you, assume he is some all knowing entity and proceed to listen to his talking, but be cautious.

In addition if the cliff hanger kills the mysterious man, RUN-LIKE-HELL.

You slowly back away from the shadow, nearing the edge of the cliff. The figure makes no movements.

You glance rapidly over your left shoulder to make sure you aren't in danger of falling off the edge. A fraction of a second passes before you reorient you attention on the silhouette.

It's gone.

Silence reigns. Nothing moves but the slowly wafting clouds of fog. Even the breathing of the man holding on for his life has ceased. A moment passes before a voice whispers:

"Is it gone?"

Reader reaction check: How do you all think the game is going so far? Good? Bad? Ugly? Is my prose excessively purple? Can you tell that the second image is supposed to be a shoulder?

((Purple? It's fine as I see it! As the shoulder was mentioned [and that we are seeing it in first person], yes. Shoulder!

Good as far as I can tell. I have no idea what we need to do next  :P))

"It's...gone, I guess."

Try to help the cliffhanger up.

Wait! try to use some kind of stick to hoist him up, if he is evil as the man said, he'll try to pull you down. At least if you use a stick or such (or other item) you can fend him off, or run. You could also take your shirt off, wrap it, and use it like a rope, be cautious.

I like this game. Yes it looks like a shoulder.
