Okay again, what the hell is IRIS doing that is illegal? How are they getting cash, resources, influence and facilities? What the fuck possessed them to reveal themselves if their operations were so illegal?

Donations from big companies. And also now they hold the market for real pokemon and they produce prosthetics that actually work as the lost limbs. So they are probably at least a bit loaded right now. And seeing as they are publicly known for that they probably have a bit of a good image to the general public. And they have sold various major powers high tech weapons due to a sort of splinter cell. And they will probably go on with magictec that helps people if they aren't shutdown by governments that find out the illegal stuff.

Where's the illegal stuff? How the hell did it run and remain secret entirely from donations? Also, a great deal of those "high-tech" weapons seem to be more magical than actually obeying the laws of physics.

The Icarus robots aren't high-tech?

The locking up of various sentient beings without trial. And they also took money from various monsters dens and have some other auxiliary forms of income that comes easily from magic, like producing chocolates and alcohol.

Judging by what's been seen so far, I have the sinking suspicion their relation to the laws of physics is debatable. Plus they aren't entirely IRIS, wasn't DARPA also involved?

Yes. I don't really know as Akroma made the entire thing. Which is probably par for course for an international organization. I mean, even with lots of tech and magic you can't keep track of everyone and be a good employer.

And what do they have that military organizations would want? The ICARUS project is a failure and lasers haven't really demonstrated many advantages over bullets, especially considering blooming.

SO what's to prevent people from hacking in or seizing it by force? Or employees selling it to various governments?
