[2] He's the only-- alright, forget that, that makes as much sense as walking through a door and coming out the same side.

Other arena fighters include Kasp the Red, also called the Burning Dragon, a battle sorcerer who is known for his trademark usage of Fireball by pretending to spit it out of his mouth, and a man known only as Zakar, who wields a deadly masterwork lajatang with skill and finesse.

"Ah! It's not every day you meet such a famous thug like yourself! Tell me, I must know; did your taste for the arena sour with a defeat? Last time I heard, the crowds were screaming your name."

"Ha! If I had lost I would not be quite so proud of my mantle! No, some fool began spreading rumors that the fights were staged! Can you believe that? Me, fake a fight? It defeats the entire purpose of the arena! That's why I'm here actually. If I can't earn glory in the arena I figured I can earn it adventuring. I will clear my name and return to the arena." The Butcher paused for a moment before adding "Or continue adventuring. It depends on if it holds my fancy as much as the arena did."

"Fight? No. Slaughter? Yes! It was a fun time. I reccomend it to everyone."

"Why would slaughtering people be fun? That's just simply sadistic and barbaric - it's far more efficient and cleaner to simply shoot crystals at your foes."

"It's a competition! They knew what they were getting into. It gets your blood pumping! You never feel quite as alive as you do in the arena. Killing innocents... That I could understand. But in the Arena? No, that's more of a game. The whole magic thing you're talking about... It's boring."

"I'm saying that most normal people don't think with their swords. I doubt that even Zakar is as kill crazy as you." The smile that was growing his face disappears, when he glances in Quim's direction. In a low mutter "That said, I doubt even more that you're the only one who's bonkers in this party."
