Did TolyK ever say why you are town-cult hybrid instead of just cult like every other conversion?

Yes.

The cult leader's conversion ability adds the wincon of "AND cult" to my all of my wincons (of which I only had one, Town).  This caused problems, since I became a cult-town hybrid.  I asked TolyK how I was supposed to win at that point and he told me that if I was the last person standing, I won.  I then clarified with him who would win if I won and he said everyone who had already won and everyone who shared a wincon with me.

Basically, I count as Cult for the purposes of the cult wincon, Town for the purposes of the town wincon, meaning that if I am the last person standing I fulfil the cult wincon (since it treats me as cult) and the town wincon (since it treats me as town).

However, and this I also clarified with TolyK, the game will not end while I am alive, even if all other players are town or cult, unless I am the last player, because of my hybrid wincon.  Because my cult wincon would remain untriggered if all remaining players were townies, and my town wincon would remain untriggered if all remaining players were cult.

By the way, I'd suggest everyone to reread their wincons and think a bit. Nothing has changed, just think.
