Werebeast age oddity

One of my dwarven children was recently bitten and infected by a Wererabbit.  I had her immediately quarantined, and after she transformed to wereform and back I checked her status to see if the transformation itself had any effect on her happiness.  I saw nothing to that effect, but I did see that the description of her dwarven age had been replaced with this interesting tidbit:

"She has the appearance of somebody that is eight million four hundred twenty-eight thousand seven hundred years old and is one of the first of her kind."

I don't know what this means, but it sounds very cool and merits further study.

That.... sounds fascinating. The were-ing made her old? But she's not an adult? Hmmm.

So, I guess you didn't generate a world with 8.4 million years of history? I wonder where this oddly specific number comes from.

Yeah, in the legend viewer you often get a negative birth year for supernatural creatures. Guess that might cause it.

It's interesting that the age of the werebeast is displayed at all. Not very stealthy. =3

Known bug actually. Had that happen with a werebeasted dwarf that added over a century to their age.

Neither is "X HAS TRANSFORMED INTO A WEREBEAST!" There's not really much stealth to werebeasts except for the initial approach

Ok, an overflow error actually makes sense, although I personally would have preferred demon/deity possession for the coolness factor.

Sounds like a fort leader to me! Reverse the quarantine! What happens when an entire fort transforms? Uncontrolled peace? I'm assuming they'd probably tear apart any loose animals that weren't hidden behind drawbridges/floodates or in cages during the first 'turning', pretty early on.. I've had a non-fort-native werebeast ("the original") trapped with the one dwarf that got infected, and they'd change into werehyenas simultaneously and would coexist..

And there should be an emotion generated from transforming into a beast.. but what emotion?! :> It'd be nice if it were detailed enough that a dwarf that likes rabbits would really enjoy getting to spend some time as a half-rabbit ;) Anyway, I guess it'd be based on their views on violence, power, and self-control.. A peaceful dwarf that values 'civility' wouldn't enjoy transforming, while a dwarf that likes to fight and drink til they can't wear pants anymore would enjoy beasting out :>

Depends on the time the age bug happens. If it happens before the first transformation it would be a clear indicator that the dwarf needs to be isolated.

Unfortunately, with the Werebeasts I've had so far, if you put two in a room together, or a fort together, or in a pathable range of each other, they will kill each other. Because they change according to when they were bitten, and some get bitten days after the other ones, so when they turn... they proceed to start a fight which they then continue when everyone has transformed. Basic result: It would soon be a fort occupied by a single werebunny. Or in my case, Weretortoise, weremonitor, werelizard, were......
