Posting to watch! Yaaaaay Swordstar's FEF!

Might be making up an elven wyvern rider, dunno yet. Would have to read the lore and see what the stat differences would be.

Quick question, are we starting as trainees or first class?

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Spoiler: Dodgin hits 4 days (click to show/hide)
I am completely not sure about the name. Or elven names in general.

You generally can't have more than one ps increasing any one thing, either.

(First thought is Elves get -1 Str/Mag (whichever your starting weapon is in), -1 CON, +1 SKL, +1 SPD and Dwarves get -1 SKL, -1 SPD, +1 HP, +1 CON, but I'm not sure I want to hand out/take away SPD since it's such an important stat. I'll need to think about it a bit more. Feel free to give suggestions.)

Them being -Mag if they're a mage seems odd, considering they're described as being better in magic.
No, I said they're believed to be. Aka, the stereotype is that because there have been some real strong elf mages in the past. But in general they're not specifically better at magic than humans or dwarves

The way SB did it (aka one that's +15, one that's +10 hit/evd) would be ok, but I'm not accepting PSs or faults that are triggered by weapon subcat, so you're gonna need to fix that.

And twin, starting as trainee, sorry shoulda put that in the OP

Are there any tensions between the races? Wars (recent or otherwise), trade conflicts, etc? Or is it more of a nation-by-nation sort of thing?

What setting doesn't have generic fantasy racism?

I'm just asking :P

The exact nature of the generic fantasy racism can vary quite a bit as well. In some settings it's mostly mild antipathy while in others it's outright murderhate.

The biggest issue of that is in Oldrdyn where they've basically kicked all non humans out. That being said, there will always be people who think their race is better, who think their nationality is better, etc. The elves of Echore stay hidden because there have been minor conflicts between elves and humans before. That being said, there hasn't been any major conflicts in 5000 years thanks to Cleper. So besides Oldrdyn, it's largely an area by area thing. So some villages will welcome dwarves and elves, others will view them with suspicion, others will view humans with suspicion, etc

No major conflicts? In five thousand years?
Good lord, that's impressive. Do the nations even maintain much in the way of standing armies? I assume they keep some some armed forces for dealing with bandits and the like, but I can't see any nation keeping a large army ready when there's virtually no need for them. Armies are expensive.

There are always bandits and stuff, but nope, no wars in 5000 years. Cleper basically nips 'em all in the bud and the whole "we could wipe out half your country with our spells if we so chose" thing kinda keeps people in line. Some countries keep slightly larger forces around than others, but no country has a major standing army at this point, no.

Would Echore have access to wyverns of either variety? I ask because "thick forests" and "mountains/deserts" don't necessarily go together :P

Echore could have access to wyverns since they're near the mountains, yeah. Not desert ones though. And as I said to someone else, if you're gonna be an Echore elf, we'll need to talk some, just to figure out specifics of why you left, what exactly Echore is like, etc. :P

Alright! Here are the effects that being a different race will have:

Human: No effect
Elves: +spd, +skl, -con, -str/mag (whichever you have more growth in)
Dwarves: +con, +str/mag (whichever you have more growth in), -spd, -skl
Half breeds get to choose which of the effects they want (so human/elf mix would choose human or elf, etc.)

Besides racial bonuses, what are the extra stat boosts people have?
