Theater of the Void: A God Game (22/⊕֍࿃)
« on: July 11, 2016, 09:53:33 pm »

Third time's the charm, as they say. First the Litany, then the Symphony, finally to the Theater. Heavily inspired by Kilojoule Proton's "Ye Gods" series of RPGs, this game takes place in what is (initially) a blank-slate. The players play as Gods, filling the slate with their own creations, from planets to plants. Most of the players have likely played one of the previous games, so I'll make this short :P.

Character sheet:

Name: What could possible go in this slot? Na Me?
Sphere: What your God has domain over, giving them discounts and bonuses to actions taken within their sphere. You must have one Primary sphere. You may choose a single Secondary Sphere if you wish.
Primary form/associated symbol: What your God looks like (most the time), and what your followers use to identify themselves.
Description/Background: What is the character like, including things like a description, goals, personality etc.

As a quick note, many mechanics are currently Hidden, mostly for obscure stuff like the Void. In-character research is required to unlock some actions. Don't assume that the "reality" works the same as in past games, as these hidden thingies may or may not have changed.

Name: Nica
Sphere: Adventure, Imperialism
Primary form/associated symbol: An middle-aged explorer dressed in khaki military uniform, she wears large spectacles and has a flock of various birds almost always in her vicinity. Her symbol is a cockatoo holding a mouse in its talons.
Description/Background: Stern, discplined but caring, Nica is a deity who seeks to instill greatness in those below her and if those people need to be forced to learn, so be it. Besides this however, she enjoys exploring the unknown and collecting rare and strange things.

Name: Ceartas

Sphere: Justice

Appearance: Eyeless old man wearing utilitarian, loose-fitting clothes. Carries a long staff and has a set of worn bronze scales somewhere on his person, often used to weigh the merits of any argument about justice.

Symbol: Set of scales

Description: While Ceartas has his own preferred ways of doing things, he believes a Justice system has to be organic, freely chosen by its subjects, in order to be effective. Thus, he tends to take a hands-off approach to his creations' development, guiding them if they ask for it, or introducing various challenges if they start to stagnate.

He likes long walks on the beach in the Void, gently ribbing his fellows, and in-depth discussions on just how wrong you are varieties of Justice.

Here we go.

Name: Sombre
Sphere: Depth
Secondary Sphere: Darkness
Description:  A grey humanoid with no discernible features. As needed, features (eyes, mouths, noses, extra-limbs, etcetera) seem to bubble up from deep within the odd god. Sombre is not a flamboyant or flashy god. He does what he intends to do, nothing more, nothing less. He tends to remain neutral in most matters, but can be swayed be argument and appeals to morality, but not by force. He only seeks to tend to the deeper darker places of the universe and does so with such neutrality that it is impossible to tell what dark thoughts rumble beneath his surface.
Symbol: A grey circle with a body part, typically an eye or mouth, inside of it.

Hmmm. I always have fun with abstract concepts that define concrete phenomena. Or sorta-concrete. Zhin and Teburshe were both really fun to play. Might be just the accent and difference in thoughtstyle from my typical, as well. And I have sorta had that one idea for a while. Sooooo......

Kilojoule and I, I suspect. Possibly Kyuu, though I suspect that Rivalry won't be quite as interesting. No offense, piratejoe. But also it's Kilojoule. :/
