Vampire Hunter D

Am I the only one here who is a fan of the series and it's dark science fantasy world brimming with mystery and slightly confusing prose?

Huh, I was thinking about it from the books angle, given that most of the series is on the printed page but I guess most people know it from those two animated movies.

I'm a fan of Vampire Hunter D, but I haven't kept up with the anime for a while.

Loved it, when I saw it as a kid on Sci-Fi's anime offerings. Never stayed up with the rest of the series though. But it is like, the quintessential dank 80s anime next to Akira for me.

If I recall there's was another movie, a comic book and far tooo many novels as well as saw adaptations that died in production. The second book is pretty good if I recall correctly I don't to know so much about the quality of the others.
