Version 1.0.2 is live! This version addresses the tail fingers identified by Atkana, which has also been reported to the original mod author. Thank you! Other polish is included.
This version does not introduce any changes that would substantially necessitate a new world if already invested.
Only ~12 raw files, plus the readme doc, were changed from 1.0.1; sorting raws by date (Aug 14 + Aug 18) will show those and save a full install.
v1.0.2Additions: Added pigeons. I woke up in a cold sweat realizing one of life's best animals was not included in DF. They are smaller than the (extinct) passenger pigeons.
Creatures: Gave Lizardmen the ability to spit.
Creatures: For Lizardmen, added a new tail swipe attack. (Nagas have this by default since their tail is Stance, and other tailed men have by default upon conversion).
Creatures: For Naga, clarified that their tail swipe is their only "kick" option. (All other tailed men have a kick by default because their tails are NOT their kicking limbs after conversion).
Creatures: For Naga, restored their poison / venom.
Creatures: Restored the missing two heads to the Primal Calamity (the dinosaur hydra megabeast). It now properly has three.
Names/Descriptions: Fixed some lemur vs loris issues. Lorises are not in Highfantasy at present.
Names/Descriptions: Fixed Seagull Men masquerading as Albatross Men.
Names/Descriptions: Cleared up the moles. By the way, the star-nosed mole is an absolutely amazing creature and you should go read about it.
Symbols: Updated default human, dwarf, and elf creature colors to match civ colors. Goblins had already been changed to match in 1.0.0.
Bugs: Gave Naga a spit material to stop them spitting their own fat.
Bugs: Removed fingers from the tails of naga. This was a single case; for the more widespread version of the bug, read on.
Bugs: Added code to the animalman cv conversion to prevent fingers growing from TAIL_ANIMALMAN_GRASP s by creating a "4handfingers" bodypart in body_default. This fixed tailfingers on at least 12 creatures impacted by the basic_1partbody, body_with_head_flag, and quadruped_neck body type conversions across legged and legless versions. Did NOT need to also adjust the Punching interaction in the animalman cv because it already used CAT not TYPE; serpentmen (nagas) were a hardcoded exception/oversight by the original coder.
The majority of the populace of certain sites seem to have a tendency to be heavily frostbitten.
Adding this one to the "unknown source" tracker. Offhand, my first questions are: are they wearing clothes? Is it a certain civ's sites or which ones? Possible vectors include clothing changes and, much less likely, body changes (what few there are). There aren't weather changes.
Also Voliol, great work on your creatures mod - I just found it for the first time and will be checking it out
