Travel Map?
« on: March 10, 2010, 12:54:29 pm »

One thing that confuses me, in embark also but mainly adventure mode, is what do different colour areas mean? I am using the Mayday pack but I think it's the same as vanilla in that respect. By colours I mean like, some areas are purple, some are bluey-green, etc.

Proper English will make people take you more serious.
In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.

Those colors represent evilness, crossing through purple areas follow the evil set, while bluey-green I think are evil/evil cold areas.

The blue areas could be good if i'm right.

If you go to the DF embark screen and move over an area on the right hand side it will tell you what they all mean.  Purple is terrifying which means there are bad things, grey/brown is haunted I believe which means zombies and undead, and then you have areas that are like light blue, which is whimsical or fantastic or something like that, you'll find unicorns and faeries there.
