For blessed treasure maps it's well known that you will get clearer hints. Otherwise you might be looking at a map full of snow/grass and nothing else.

By digging through the source, I can confirm that picks are useless for mining. Only your strength and your Mining skill are used.
Incidentally, if there are any other questions on stuff like this, feel free to ask. I may even drop it on the wiki at some point.

Yesterday I heard in-game a rumor that reading a scroll of oracle before opening a chest increases the chance of getting better loot.

Is there any truth to that?

Yes I know what oracle scrolls are for... but a NPC said reading one before you open a chest improves the chance of getting better loot.

Correct, scrolls of oracle have no bearing on chest contents. Blessing a treasure map doesn't seem to do anything either. Haven't dug through the code enough to answer the other questions, but the wiki says blessing armor adds 2 PV, same as a scroll of enchant armor. So I imagine whatever the effect of a scroll of enchant weapon does, blessing it does the same. Besides, blessed items resist being cursed much better than normal items, so it's worthwhile to bless everything anyway.

Yeah. I don't now how quickly.
Pretty fast though, I know I killed that girl who follows you in Yowyn every time. So in 1-3 days.

Before level 6, I don't mind dying.

Afterward level 6 I only accept dying in arena/party quests, where there's no penalty other than tired status.

I'm actually pretty sure your stats drop. Even on quests.

Not in the arena, unless the wiki is wrong. Not sure about those parties having never died in there... or attempted it after I was near deathed.

I'm only asking abiut you dying so I can say to myself 'Hey, those guys are playing Elona,  neat.'

Discovered that 4-dimensional pocket can actually store multiple copies of the game's artifacts (2 Ether Daggers).

I've yet to try though, if I can get any of those stuff, without morphing, and dual-wield them for great justice.
