Any tips for companions in Elona+?

So far I've managed to get not a single use out of mine aside from eating up my gp.

Personally, I've got myself 6 humanoid companions decked out in good stuff that I can't/won't use that are slightly less powerful than me, each. Together, we wipe the floor with most rooms of monsters. So that's something you could try to do, get humanoids and give them your second-hand gear. Remember to get good humanoids of higher or somewhat equal level, though, because they'll obviously under preform if they aren't good enough.

Would anyone mind giving me a link ((if it exists)) to an english version of elona+?  Maybe version 1.19 since I think someone said 1.20 is bugged?

I don't think there is an "english" version of Elona+, unless something changed and nobody decided to mention it. You can certainly set Elona+ to english, but it will have untranslated sections at places.

Oh you can set it to an 'english' version?  Didn't know that, on a limited download connection so I didn't wanna go testing all the links that were written in japanese, thanks!

My current party is a
Black Angel
Little girl (trying to make her a Valkyrie or Witch)
Silver Eyed Witch (Was such a pain to get)
well + lot of putit in ranches to raise my charisma still trying to get a Quickling for speed

Yeah I had to start getting my magic up to combat the melee problem but w/e still fun I just hope the next patch comes out soon to fix it

Fun Fact #1: bomb rocks and cluster bomb rocks can't explode in the rain.
Fun Fact #2: cluster bomb rocks can still split in the rain.

Edit: They've now filled about 3/4 of that plaza, and are rapidly spilling down into the barracks to the south and the alleyway leading to the water pools to the north; to the west they've made it to the front of the casino.

All because some dumb adventurer brought a cloak cursed with Attracts Monsters [####] into town. >_>

i'd recommend getting a safe distance away then letting the town blow up...collect loot afterwards...

Not all of them. They perma-killed that poor bugger of a mercenary wizard. He crawled up from the fountain about 4 months back and has been hanging around the plaza ever since. :P
