In some cases it spawns higher level creatures but mostly that is depending on fame.
What you gain in skills you loose in mp/hp

Gaining levels apparently makes gaining potential coming more and more slower for attributes and skills.
That's the only reason to try to keep your level low i think.

But in Elona+, thanks to the nice Travelling skill upgrade, it compensate very well the potential problem when leveling up.

(you don't want to be gaining levels).
People keep saying this, but why?
From all I can tell, gaining levels is a good thing, especially in E+.
Karma penalties and shiz. Elona+, that's a different thing. Levels are actually quite nice there, and if you even hope to tame creatures with domination, you need to level up anyway.

If anything, levels are late game stuff: :P

How do you guys avoid the ether wind? Do you just sit next to the innkeeper holding the 'skip turn' button until it starts? I get caught by it pretty often unless I waste loads of time waiting to see if it'll happen. Save-scumming doesn't work either since it seems to change the time/date on which it happens if you do it.

Ah, I guess I misinterpreted your sentence; only the first half was in reference to E+.

@ygdrad: You are safe from it in your house. If you're magically inclined, this is a great opportunity to stock your fridge with food beforehand, then spend that first week of those months just training spells. Hence my Etherwind Festival I mentioned earlier. Alternatively, those skill textbooks go through time extremely fast. Get one of those, then read that, and you will go through it pretty much as fast as shelter-time.

I just wait in the city doing various things or at my house. You don't need to sit just next to the innkeeper, it actually takes a fair bit of time for Ether to get you assuming you weren't just about to get a disease effect (I know this because I tried to get a nice disease effect for a while running back and forth on the world map but no luck). Though I do recommend extra caution until you get two or three cure potions.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I have yet to find any cure corruption potions.

Play blackjack. If a random event suddenly goes "Mewmewmew!", then it's a lucky day. That's the time when you start playing blackjack like crazy, due to the humongous bonus of 777 luck.

Etherwind, you can avoid it if you are in town by talking to the innkeeper and asking them to 'take you to the shelter'.

In Blackjack if you bet 1 casino chip, you need to win 5 times in a row to get a Potion of Cure Corruption.
With a 5 chips bet, it's only 4 times in a row.
So once you get the "Lucky Day" status (happens rarely when you wake up from sleeping in a bed), run to a casino (Palmia has one by example) and get lots of Cure Corruption potions this way.

I noticed i obtained a lot more of those potions in Elona+ 1.19 than when i played the default Elona from dungeon random loots, finding one from time to time even on the ground of Puppy Cave.
Probably because i invested in Luck a lot (items+feat)

Anyone got suggestions on how to get potions of potential reliably? I know of the souvenir shop but that one is damn expensive and I don't have a high income.
I guess I can invest in magic shops to the max.

Eating blessed food also has a chance of giving the Lucky Day buff.

Also, Elona+ changed the rules for casino prizes. Dunno how much.

With 45 Alchemy you can craft potions of potential provided you have the materials.

Yeah. But I expect that I need to go through higher dungeons and if I could do that I could probably afford to buy the potions.

Invest in the magic vendors. Then just check their shops as you run around the towns doin whatever it is you do. Good way to get various nice scrolls and potions.
