TURN 5

Spoiler: Doomblade187's Command (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Lenglon's Command (click to show/hide)

While the "Floating Coffin" might have managed to dodge all of those mines, the "Watchful Vigilance" was less so... If you were slightly curious, those torpedoes were launched by the "Cirow" on the very same turn.

Can't think of anything else to say, so best of luck and try to keep your last scout intact.

Of course, my ship with mines is farthest from the action.

Daring Escape, Resolute, Spitfire: Accelerate (0, -1, 0)
Magnum, Gen'ral Ted: Fire weapons at the Qutitelo; Accelerate (1,0,0)

GM: I can't see any sensor readings my ships might have. Can I currently fire on anything with my range-5 weapon?

Anything at (14, 12), (14, 11) or (13, 10) is within range of the "Dashing Brilliance".

keep in mind that what weapons we've seen them use only have a range of 2. i think we have to kite them to win.

fields, instrument, accel (1,0,0) aka, northwest, instrument launches mines south.
falcon accel (0,-1,0) aka, south.
driller, shafter, accel (0,-1,0) aka, south, launch torpedos south.
coffin, fire upon vergino, accel (0,0,1) aka, northeast.
torps, do not accel.

Dashing Brilliance fires on any torpedoes/mines in range, torpedoes taking precedence.

All ships accel 1 down-left, which I think is (-1,0,0).

TURN 6

Spoiler: Doomblade187's Command (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Lenglon's Command (click to show/hide)

I think I might have messed up your orders for the Mines, Lenglon. Either that, or you forgot that ships launch before they accelerate.

Congratulate the crew of the General Ted and determine who deserves which medals.

Escape, Resolute, Spitfire: Fire upon the enemy ships at (7,9), and accelerate by (0,1,0) if possible.
Magnum, Ted: Accelerate by (0,1,0) and fire upon the enemy ships at (7,10) if possible.

what happened to the coffin? I dont see what killed it in the actions section of the turn.

and yes, I got the launch time wrong. I thought it was accel then launch for some reason.

actually, just checked, and fields took unexplained damage too, i think you lost half the turn.

Even I have a bit of trouble with (X, Y, Z) sometimes. Sorry about that.

Falcon: be confused about astrogation, somehow a velocity of (-1, -1, 0) became (0, -1, -1)
Falcon: accel opposite the current vel, such that the end result is a velocity of (0, -1, 0)

Falcon: accel (1, 0, 0) aka northwest.
Falcon: fire upon the nearest rommel class cruiser.
Falcon: fire upon the Beous Erie
Fields and Blunt: Accel (0,1,0) aka, north, and enter stable orbit around the star.
Blunt: fire upon "Hegi"
Driller and Shafter: do not accel.
Driller and Shafter: fire upon "Hegi"
Torps at 8,7: accel (0, 0, -1) aka southwest.
Torps at 9,13: accel (0, 1, 0) aka north.

It's actually not really an (x,y,z) system in anything but the number of coordinates. It's only 2D.

The X/Y/Z refer to vectors, though in this case they're arranged to form a 2D plain instead of 3D. We could remove the Z vector, but that makes things messier and less convenient. It's still an (x,y,z) system though, even if it's not linearly independent.
