N. Assess if we have any functioning audio devices. Something capable of producing sound so we could attempt to communicate or at least listen to those outside of the hull.

I have the feeling that we might have been offline for quite a while.

CCC: Polling internal decision algorithms: One yes and one no. We need consensus. Activation of APDS will slag the organics and nearby rubble.

Consensus has been reached.

>Activate APDS

The video stream judders suddenly and along the armor shell you see small antipersonnel guns deploy. The video stream then goes a blinding white and stops transmitting for several seconds.

When video resumes, the inside of the tunnel is a mess of molten glass and dripping lava. The slagged digging machine is puddling nearby and a waldo quickly snakes out to consume the slagged steel and other metals before retracting into the Hull. There are no remains of the soldiers but sensors detect a fine carbon particulate in the air as well as organic residue scattered about the tunnel.

-Cycle 6-

Logistics reports that local repair materials are now exhausted, but secondary power and propulsion are active. Cognition systems stable at 24% of full capacity, well over what you require to function as CognOS.

CCC comes online briefly to assess the situation and gives you a new objective: Extract Hull 101 from rubble and reestablish communications with HQ. MCP reports that all secondary systems are operational and that the external hatches are sealed with the exception of the breach over the primary power plant. External sensors report a radiation leak from that location, likely from the breached power plant, but this poses no danger to you.

With your improved cognition capacity you estimate 18 hours have passed since you came online.

Correction: Hull 101 is a ground combat vehicle, not a ship.

>Access Hull 101 records >19hr prior to current time

You appear to be missing several long-term storage drives. This is a result of maintenance action rather than damage, the drives were removed properly and sockets empty. You find the following transmission log in local buffer for your primary communications circuit:

Code: [Select]
RCVD STAND DOWN MESSAGE -- ORDER VERIFIED AND CONFIRMED
RCVD ORDERS: RELOCATE TO SECTOR 13 FOR MAINTENANCE//STORAGE MCCRAG DEPOT//FT MCCRAG
TXMT ACK ORDERS: RELOCATION IN PROGRESS
TXMT STATUS: RELOCATION COMPLETE
TXMT STATUS: STAND DOWN ACK -- SYSTEMS SHUTDOWN COMMENCE

The buffered transmissions log does not have a date/time group.

Query systems to discover what RCVD And TXMT are. Also, discover what the current state of our communications system is. And engage the cameras/sensors/whatever we have to look and see what exactly has us pinned or trapped.

Sounds like the war/battle/conflict might have ended. Upon which we might just have started a new one! yay.

Do we have specialist cognition programs for structural analysis? If yes, turn one to see if we can remove ourselves without collapsing the building.

Speaking of paw taking, look up language modules and external audio devices. If both are found, prepare (prerecord) a statement in as many languages as possible stating that approaching the Hull is dangerous to human lifeforms. Set set statement to play on a loop whenever humans are detected nearby.

RCVD = Transmission Received
TXMT = Transmission sent

Communications is a tertiary system and status unknown but presumed online. No need has arisen for communications as yet, and tertiary systems have not been polled.

Hull 101 is trapped beneath rubble and debris from a collapsed building, as you have already ascertained.

Do we have specialist cognition programs for structural analysis? If yes, turn one to see if we can remove ourselves without collapsing the building.
Not... as such. You are a combat vehicle, not an engineering//support vehicle. You are the specialist troubleshooting program, and you have no data on structural analysis. You're quite good at demolitions however.

> mark Primary Propulsion as allowed to cannibalize for further repairs, although obviously start with the parts most easily restored later. With this, we can hopefully accelerate getting enough of Secondary Power back to fully activate CCC and Secondary Propulsion.

> Fabricate some form of drone capable of moving through the rubble (snake-like search and rescue model?) and send it up wards to assess how deep we're buried, and how hard getting drone capable of moving the material up to the surface would be.
Primary propulsion systems marked as expendable.

Secondary propulsion is already online. CCC is active but unnecessary as no combat is taking place.

Drone fabrication in progress. You have selected standard drone type 2 with additional waldo units for motility through loose rubble. Type 2 drones are equipped with basic mobility (ground) and sensor suite. Drone will be completed on Cycle 8.

Sounds like the war/battle/conflict might have ended. Upon which we might just have started a new one! yay.

Standard civilian warning message #17 loaded into external PA.

--Cycle 7--

Drone fabrication proceeds. Sensors detect additional humans approaching within the tunnel. Your external PA system turns on automatically transmitting the following in all known languages.

"WARNING -- THIS UNIT IS ENGAGED IN AUTONOMOUS OPERATIONS. INTERFERENCE WITH THIS UNIT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. ANY UNIDENTIFIED PERSONS WHICH APPROACH WITHIN 300 METERS WILL BE SUMMARILY VAPORIZED"

Based on the next few alerts, you don't think your message has deterred them.

1. Tactical alert -- heavy ordinance detected.
2. Tactical alert -- targeting sensors detected. Lock on detected. Deploy countermeasures? Y/N

Does CCC engage automatically during tactical situations?

CCC will take over during combat situations but only if it deems the situation a credible threat. CCC has ultimate authority over Hull 101 during combat//tactical situations and can override any decision made by CognOS.
