I once had a dwarven male pregnancy god.

If it had poisonous blood, you have already lost.

I don't get why people always groan about syndromes, they really are quite nice :P
I had one forgotten beast with poisonous blood that happily exploded into gore at the first sign of my militia. 20-odd dwarfs had their skin slowly peeling off, until they washed themselves. Shortly after, anyone who went anywhere near the well found their feet mysteriously rotting away...

A fun little thing that I do to help spot vampires while maintaining separate bedrooms is to carve little fortification-windows into the side of every room. My mass-bedrooms tend to be little 2x3 holes in the wall piled next to each other, which eventually border on main arterial corridors. So, if a vampire is having a bite to eat, any old novice soap-maker can spot him if they pass by.

My first vampire was my chief medical dwarf. If he wasn't running around killing all my useful guys, I would've been fine with him. Instead, I confined him to the top of a terracotta tower to spend the rest of his days enjoying the scenery.

All crammed into one little tower. If you opened the door, you'd be instantly killed by a tidal wave of humans.

...gay guy...
...taken but when his girlfriend...
you lost me.
More girl who is his bestest friend than girl who is his bestest sleeping buddy, I'd guess. Sorta like how straight girls have girlfriends.

I usually get, maximum, one per world. Usually, all the books are stored in this singular tower and written by one lone necromancer.

Dearest compadres,
I write to you today from an undisclosed location. Due to unforseen circumstances and familial strife, I have been left with no internet connection. Because of this most unfortunate interruption, I will no longer be able to join you on your adventures. At least, that is, if I don't get a job very soon. The likelyhood of such an event is astronomically low. Thanks, economic recession!
So, it is with a heavy heart that I leave my comrades to their game. Long Live the Revolution!

Sincerely nobody's, Doomshifter.

Sorry about that -- no clue what it was.  Just rebooted the server and it works again, as usual, but it's usually the forums that have that problem.

Oh Toady! You've broken the hearts of forumites board-wide! In the nicest possible manner, of course, that being neurotic anticipation quietly denied.

I'm freaking out over here, guys. Could he be uploading it? Are we having server issues? I don't know! I'm freaking out! FREAKING OUT!

Can't seem to get onto the devlog/download page

:O Is he uploading it? Right now? It's not just down for me. I asked the internet, guys. I asked the internet. It told me it was down, guys. IS IT HAPPENING?

I'm going mad here.

Is the new version being posted, or am I just freaking out over server issues?

The cast of Homestuck are murdered by a bunch of gay teenagers proceed to wear their skin in a highschool and engage in soft BL.

Fanfictions.

I try to steer clear of them at all possible opportunities. I, unfortunately, lack the self-discipline to write a proper piece of literature, so I just roleplay a lot. Fanfiction, though, has always held this special place in my heart, as being either amazingly good continuations of the storyline or horrendous portrayals of the characters and an embarassment to the original author. I've never seen anything quite half-way. Although, you do get ones that are so bad they're good, like Half Life: Full Life Consequences ...

Personally, I'm a little tired of watching Dirk sit there and ... talk to himself. Can't we get our shit together or whatnot? I'd rather watch ANY of the other three scurrying about like dumbasses than more of Dirk talking to himself/his responder.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:14:20 am »
Ghostcloisters recently reached 100 population! And still not a noble in sight, if you don't count the mayor. I've rigged the elections (turns out you can just pick) so that the expedition leader and super-awesome metalworker is the mayor. All she asks is bolts and bronze things. She makes them herself. "I mandate a bronze item! ... Oh, I may as well do it myself."

On another note, a lowly speardwarf has gained the recognition of his people for slaying not one, but two mighty forgotten beasts. Despite the poison vapours of the second one searing all his skin off, he's still up and about, drinking away.

A dwarf injured and placed into the hospital was crying about her dead child, shouting, "Cancels seek infant: Too Injured!"
We were forced to put her down, the noise was making it impossible to work.
