Personally, I prefer my sinners to cut off the tip of their own finger and write down a list of their failures upon the walls of any given temple dedicated to me in their own blood. So you could always go with that option if flogging isn't really your thing.

The odds that killing a deity would result in everyone dying horribly?

Or the odds that, in Dwarf Fortress, someone would decide to capture a deity and experiment with stabbing it?

Or the odds that, in Dwarf fortress, someone would decide to capture a deity and experiment with stabbing it, with the end result of everyone dying horribly?

In the latter case, I'd suggest a probability of about 1.

Well that capturing a feathered hyena, and hyena gods are meant to have extremely toxic saliva and blood.

Just seems ironic that a diety in a game where dietys are completely randomized would take this fact and make my fortress die of it.
