It seems that anytime I find a nice site, with a nice good ol' cliff of the 2d version fashion (aside from the slopes of course), that the otherwise perfect mountain side (as seen from the embark preview with little * signs for the cliff value and a grey block for it's height) has the shape of boobies?  It annoys me greatly.  I made an illustration to show what my map looked like once I got a closer look.



Are there any world gen settings I can use to make mountain boobs less prolific, or is it something in the coding that can't be changed?

I am afraid I don't see any boobs.  I see a vaguely anthropomorphic yellow individual wreathed in green flame pointing to the right. Where do you see boobs?

Also I suppose this means I am no longer a teenager in truth (as well as in years)

Those are eroded drain channels, go look at a real-life topographic map and you'll see them there too.

Maybe you mean the tree half-moons at the top of the green being's head? That certainly screws up the otherwise perfect location for a fort.

Don't know as I really see the resemblance there. If you're referring to the curvature of the land - that is, that your cliff is not in fact an actual cliff - you may need to use Advanced World Generation settings, if you haven't already. When the option 'Periodically Erode Extreme Cliffs' is set to Off, your cliffs will be a little cliffier in general and less curvaceous. (I tend to prefer using this option to generate epic canyons along rivers, which inevitably leads to my dwarves dying in hilarious ways involving water, gravity, or both)

In my game they look like boobs, or dumb looking circles.  In my game their much more booby, this picture I drew is so good that it makes it look awesome and realistic and whatnot, when that is simply not the case.  That's my storeh, an' I'm schtickin' to it.

Just tear down the portions you don't want to use to get the sheer cliff faces you are looking for.  Dwarven landscaping projects can get quite elaborate if you have enough time uninterupted by the undead.
