Cut shield formula to
(Enemy damage) minus (Shield defense + d20 Roll)
?

I'm thinking that it kinda fits on the blocky suits, a blocky shield. Just my opinion.

The suits already have a shield that absorbs damage by 50% during laser/energy attacks and all of metal damage. Not to mention that it is regenerating and you don't die when shield count reaches 0. No real need for a piece of metal attached to your hand.

Besides, there's already a 'passive shield' that just simply substracts damage.

I'm trying my best to include as little rolls and maths other than addition/substraction as possible :P

Having a physical shield that prevents movement when being used seems a little odd. If one assumes relative motion then something that stops you using your engines could do that, but as far as static mass goes, it is just a matter of how much you have, not how you use it... But possessing a shield could certainly lower your speed and increase your energy usage, it would probably be a flat increase to HP, probably less than you would expect in order to account for shots that would get past it.

As for capturing, there is already stun weaponry, all we need is to shoot out the stun absorber and then jam the stun knife into their power-inlet...

A few basic statistic upgrading utilities could be handy for customising your suit:

Not sure if you can hear just one in all the chaos, but I imagine Tsuan weapons make that godawful laser noise. It's categorized by the random shifts in pitch, volume, and sounding like bad dubstep.

I know it's a double post on a dead fourm thread but I want to say that I'm not dead- I just don't have the time to run games anymore and in fact probably won't have the time to update if I get in more than once a day. My internet had a huge trouble thing and died, but I'm back. Temporarily undead but soon I'll possibly try to get everything re-running.
