Wait a couple days. See if cmega is rolling around looking to carry the torch. There are a couple people who haven't been around the thread in a while with claims to the overseer slot. If nobody has picked it up by the fourth of July, I'd say your up as the next overseer.

Well, if you don't mind, now I can play it well, or at least not as bad as on my old computer.
(Seriously, that thing was at 4fps. Yes. 4fps. With luck.)
I hope you still deem me worthy of trying? If so, i'll start in the 4th of July as i'm out on a trip today and I will return home tomorrow.
Yeah. The past four overseers haven't had near as many problems with enemy invaders as they have with slowly bringing the fortress out of FPS hell. I think the major goal right now is some kind of clean fortress. I'd also love to see the labyrinth active. Minotaur vs goblin funtime.

Yeah, those prisoners will come handy. We can make them fight the humans.

Also, if I remember correctly, a human diplomat was offering peace treaty at my turn. It seems like the humans didn't like if we drive their diplomats mad inside that icy hellhole.

We have a full suits of bronze and iron armour lying around. I guess it's just training part.

And the fact that the Gods have cursed this fort and everything it ever does. In the beginnign it was meant to be a tomb, right?

I just picked it up for a brief 2 month stint, to get it to year end.

Initial Notes:

We have:
1541 Prepared Meals.
2537 Drinks.
1433 Meat.
921 Eggs.
901 Plump Helmets.
242 Cheese.
100 Flour.

7000 Stones

~250 bone crossbows

44 Citizens, 2 are children.

Not Enough Masons, and once again, corpses.

All of our dwarves are hauling. I don't know why. Is it any kind of important to move stuff around the fort?

I'm removing stockpiles. I'll be removing hauling from most of our dwarves in a sec.

Animal stockpiles stay. The weapon stockpile near the entrance stays. The nearly empty wood stockpile can stay. I disbanded all the food stockpiles save one, in the main dining room, but forbid prepared food and drinks. I also built a kitchens and stills nearby.

Farms are slated for deconstruction.

I've assigned a large number of weapon traps to be filled with bone crossbows in the internal workings of the fortress. The only non assigned bone crossbows are FB bone crossbows.  Halfway though this project I realized I should have just assigned it all to be atomsmashed. Oh well.

The bowyers workshop has been deconstructed.
