...How is Alexander going to be introduced to this?

You could be a sort of wandering knight, righting wrongs, dispensing justice, that sort of thing. If you still want to have known Gregor beforehand, we could always say that our fathers knew each other when we were younger.

That's why I rarely prepare content beforehand in an RPG.
It's a little important in games like these to make maps and roll character stats beforehand :P
