I think we may be off of our prediction that Prixima is the cause of the destruction... Or she's flat out lying to us and will send soldiers to kill us later when we're gone. Not that she can't kill us all herself though right now... Man, I don't know anymore.

Haspen said the wheels of fate had already been set in motion ever since we agreed to go search for the stone. Could that mean that the Bad Things are a result of other people reacting to Prixima's ambitions, possibly even seeking her stone, rather than whatever Prixima herself intended to do?

Because by all appearances, she really did just want her fancy status-stone back because nobles.

Seriously, just because people are killed over something doesn't mean it's super magic. It's valuable to some. A lot more people have been killed over less.
